Arthur W. Nesbitt Scholarship Awards

All-American Dairy Foundation

The All-American Dairy Foundation, Inc. will award two (2) $1,000.00 scholarships to individual outstanding youth who has exhibited or participated in Youth Events at the All-American Dairy Show. The Award announcements will be no later than September 1, 2016.

Presentation date will be announced after publication of the All-American Dairy Show schedule.

Rules and Requirements for 2016

Applicant Eligibility:

1.  To qualify for this scholarship the applicant must have participated in one or more activities prior to the 2016 All-American Dairy Show, including the Premier National Junior Dairy Breed Shows, Dairy Youth Challenge Contests, Breed Sales, All-American Dairy Breed Shows, Pennsylvania Junior Show, and Breed State Dairy Shows.

2.  Any applicant enrolled in a degree (undergraduate) or certificate program at a post-secondary educational institution (college, university, trade, or technical school) may apply.

3.  There is no stipulation about the type of major or program interest the applicant is pursuing to be eligible for this scholarship.

4.  Previous winners of this scholarship are not eligible to reapply.

5.  There is no age requirement.

6.  Completed applications with required documentation, and postmarked no later than July 15, 2016.

Application Procedure to verify the applicant's enrollment:

1.  Applicants completing one (1) or more semesters must submit the following;

a.  A copy of the current institution’s paid semester tuition bill,

b.  Copies of current institution’s current transcribe.

2.  Applicants entering an educational institution within seven (7) months must submit the following: (Applicant can be an entering Freshman)

a.  A copy of the acceptance letter from the intended Institution,

b.  A copy of the High School transcript,

Facial Photograph

1.  Enclose a recent facial photograph, with name printed on back of photo; the photo is for publicity purposes, no smaller than 2" by 3" or a JPEG photo can be sent by email to

Essay

1.  Enclose an Essay on one (1) of the two Essay Questions

2.  Essay should be; font size 11 point, margins to no less than 1 inch, maximum of 500 words, and double-spaced

3.  Essay Topics Choice One Topic

a.  How do you think the dairy industry will change in the next ten years?

b.  What position should the dairy industry take in regards to marketing raw milk to individual consumers?

General:

1.  In order for the scholarship to be tax- free, AADF will pay the bursar’s office of the winner’s educational institution.

2.  All submissions must be typed or printed

Judging Criteria:

1.  Involvement at the All-American Dairy Show - 40%,

2.  Essay - 40%,

3.  Academics - 20%,
