Guidelines and template for the peer review of the draft publication“OUTLOOKS ON BIODIVERSITY: Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities’ contributions to the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020”
I. Background
Forest Peoples Programme, together with members of the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity, and in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, has prepared the document “Outlooks on Biodiversity: Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities’ contributions to the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 - A complement to the Fourth edition of the Global Biodiversity Outlook”. The document is a draft and open for peer review.
As a draft, this document may contain formatting, grammar, spelling or punctuation issues which will be addressed as part of the copy editing of the final draft, following the peer review revision.

- To ensure that your comments are given due consideration, please send them by e-mail ,at your earliest convenience but no later than 11 September 2016.
It is also possible to comment only on specific sections or chapters of the publication.
- When submitting comments, please adhere to the following guidelines as much as possible:
- Please provide all comments in writing and in an MS Word or similar document format using the table provided below. Comments may be provided in English, French, and Spanish.
- Please provide full contact information for the individual/Government/organization submitting the comments.
- Please avoid commenting on issues related to formatting, grammar, spelling, or punctuation, unless it affects the overall meaning of the text, as the document will be edited as the final draft is prepared.
- To facilitate the revision process please be as specific as possible in your comments. In areas where you feel additional or alternative text or information is required, please suggest, if possible, what this text may look like or what should be included.
- If you refer to additional sources of information, please include these with your comments when possible or provide a complete reference or hyperlink.
- If you know of additional case studies or examples which could be used in the publication, please feel free to suggest them and to provide any related information.
