1Definition

Company requirements refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures that are communicated in an oral or written form. These requirements must include legislation and safety requirements and may include but are not limited to – manufacturer’s instructions, industry codes of practice and standards.

2The candidate is required to select one type of storage facility and one seafood product or associated good (such as dry goods, ingredients, packaging, chemicals), and must provide evidence of these for each element.

Element 1

Demonstrate knowledge, and supervise the reception, of seafood products and associated goods into the store at aseafood plant.

Performance criteria

1.1Documentation and records required for thereception of goods into the storeare explained in accordance with company requirements.

1.2Reception checks and required corrective actions are explained in accordance with company requirements.

1.3The reception of the goods into the store is supervisedin accordance with company requirements.

Element 2

Demonstrate knowledge, and supervise the storage, of seafood products and associated goods at a seafood plant.

Performance criteria

2.1Documentation and records required for the storage of goodsare explained in accordance with company requirements.

2.2Storage checks and required corrective actions are explained in accordance with company requirements.

2.3The storage of goods is supervisedin accordance with company requirements.

Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.

Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.

Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
