٭EAB management Plan – Sheryle reported that she spoke with the representative from Arborjet regarding bark splitting after the injection of the Treeage chemical. The company is very concerned the injections are not being done properly. They will be meeting Sheryle in TerreHaute to look at the sites in question andvisit those companies who have the equipment.

٭Pear tree failure on Maple Ave - Sheryle reported that a couple more trees failed. She is having 6 trees removed, but has made no progress on a plan to replace them.

٭Brian asked about watering S 4th street Sheryle reported that she is still watering. Discussion ensued about tree loss due to drought. Brian recommended the CityCouncil be given a heads up, for budgeting purposes, that DNR is predicting tree losses of at least 10%. The need to pursue grants for replanting was also discussed. Stephannie stated that there may be an opportunity to partner with ISU in theiranniversary project.

٭Sheryle reported that she received a quote from Davey Resource to do a comprehensive evaluation the Champion Ash on College Avenuesometime after the week of Sept. 17th.

NEW BUSINESS

٭ Sheryle reported that 28 trees werelostfrom the storm. Tree failure was largely due to poor root structure, trees planted too deep and girdling roots. The second largest cause of failure was poor branch structure. Stephanie wanted to go on record, that prior to the storm she reported a split tree in Collett Parkand Eddie Bird had it cleaned up the next day. If not for his timely response, the tree would have likely failed.

٭ Sheryle reported that the topic at the national conference was sustainability .

٭ Adjourn meeting.
