TWO BOOTLEGGERS WITH HUGE QUANTITY OF ILLICIT LIQUOR ARRESTED, TATA 407 TEMPO USED IN SMUGGLING OF LIQUOR ALSO SEIZED: INTERSTATE RACKET OF SMUGGLING OF ILLICIT LIQUOR BUSTED

A team of Police Station Patel Nagar has arrested (1) Tirath, aged about 29 years s/o Bhoop Singh r/o Village Chakfehri, Distraict J.P. Nagar (U.P.) and (2) Kanchan Singh, aged about 27 years s/o Bhagwat Saran r/o Village Eechwara Digar, P.S. Aasmoli, District Sambhal (U.P.). 60 cartons of Besto whisky and 03 cartons of Havaldar whisky for sale in Arunachal Pradesh only have been recovered from their possession.

INFORMATION, TEAM AND OPERATION

On 20.12.12, at about 12:30 a.m., when the police team was present near Patel Nagar Railway Station, a secret information was received that a TATA 407 Tempo carrying huge quantity of illicit liquor would go towards Ananad Parvat via DMS Road Baljeet Nagar.

On receipt of this information, a team comprising of Inspr. Ranbir Singh, SHO/Patel Nagar, SI Ramesh Chand and Ct. Amit under the close supervision of Sh. Rajiv Midha, ACP/Patel Nagar was constituted and the team started vehicle checking by putting barricades at DMS Road in the are of P.S. Patel Nagar, Delhi. At about 1:30 a.m., during vehicle checking, one TATA 407 Tempo was spotted and was signaled to stop but the driver tried to flee. He was overpowered and on search, 60 cartons of Besto whisky ( 2880 quarters) and 03 cartons (36 Bottles) of Havaldar whisky for sale in Arunachal Pradesh were recovered from the TATA 407 Tempo. Consequently, a case vide FIR No. 300/12 under section 33/58 of Excise Act was registered at PS Patel Nagar. The vehicle has also been seized by the police.

INTERROGATION

During sustained interrogation, accused persons revealed their identity as Tirath s/o Bhoop Singh r/o Village Chakfehri, Distraict J.P. Nagar (U.P.) and (2) Kanchan Singh s/o Bhagwat Saran r/o Village Eechwara Digar, P.S. Aasmoli, District Sambhal (U.P.).

Accused persons further disclosed that one person namely Sehzad met them at Haryana Border and told to supply illicit liquor in Sambhal (U.P.) and will get handsome money for supply. Both the accused persons were in dire need of money. They accepted the offer given by Sehzad to earn quick money.

Further investigation / interrogation is in progress and efforts are being made to arrest Sehzad also, who is still at large.

RECOVERY

60 cartons of Besto whisky and 03 cartons of Havaldar whisky for sale in Arunachal Pradesh have been recovered from their possession.

1.  Tirath s/o Bhoop Singh r/o Village Chakfehri, Distraict J.P. Nagar (U.P.) is 29 years old and has studied up to 5th class. He has two brothers and one sister.

2.  Kanchan Singh s/o Bhagwat Saran r/o Village Eechwara Digar, P.S. Aasmoli, District Sambhal (U.P.) is 27 years old and has studied up to 5th class. He has four brothers.

Ø  BURGLAR AND RECEIVER OF STOLEN PROPERTY ARRESTED

Ø  STOLEN CASH, GOLD / SILVER JEWELRY AND OTHER VALUABLES RECOVERED

With the arrest of two burglars namely Ashish Kumar s/o Samar Kumar r/o Village Rajpur Khurd, Mehrauli, New Delhi and Arun Kumar Jain s/o Milap Chand Jain R/o Ward No. 6, Mehrauli, New Delhi, the staff of PS Vasant Kunj North, South District have solved a recent case of night burglary and recovered stolen cash, gold / silver jewelry and other valuables.

BRIEF FACTS :

On 20/10/12, Dr. Pawan Kumar r/o Sector-A Pocket- B&C, Vasant Kunj North, New Delhi left to watch late night movie at around 11.15 PM and came back at around 2.30 AM on 21/10/12. When they tried to open the door, it was found locked from inside. They also noticed some movements / noise in the house. When they broke opened the door, they found that the locks of the almirah were broken and the cloths and other items were scattered. The jewelry and other valuables worth approx Rs. 3 lakhs had been stolen. On the complaint of Dr. Pawan Kumar, a case vide FIR No. 290/12 u/s 457/380 IPC at PS Vasant Kunj North was registered and investigation was taken up.

INVESTIGATION :

During inspection of the scene of crime, it came to know that burglar had entered in the house from the balcony of second floor. He reached up to the roof through the stairs and then jumped into the balcony. After committing theft, he came down through the drain pipes. A team comprising HC Prahalad, Const. Vikas Dabas, Const Somvir Singh and Const Sandeep was constituted under the supervision of Inspector K.P. Malik, SHO/Vasant Kunj North to investigate and to trace out the culprit. During the course of investigation, criminal intelligence was developed and it was learnt that one of the stolen mobile phones was being used by one Ashish Kumar, residing in Village Rajpur Khurd, Mehrauli, New Delhi. Accordingly, a trap was laid and accused Ashish Kumar was apprehended.

INTERROGATION :

During interrogation, it was revealed that accused Ashish Kumar was earlier arrested in 4 cases of burglary by the staff of PS Fatehpur Beri and PS K M Pur. On 21/10/12 at about 2.00 AM, he went to Sector-A Pocket-B&C and found that house of the complainant was locked. He went up to the roof and then jumped in the balcony, entered in the house and bolted the door from inside. While he was committing the burglary, he noticed that the owner had come and they were trying to open the door. He immediately came down through the drain pipe and ran away. He disclosed to have disposed off the stolen jewelry and US Dollar to one Arun Kumar Jain r/o Mehrauli for Rs. 70,000/-. At the instance of accused, receiver of stolen property namely Arun Kumar Jain was arrested and stolen property recovered.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS :

1.  Ashish Kumar (22 years) belongs to Village Santosh Pur, PS Gopal Nagar District North, 24 Pargana, West Bengal. He is married. He is previously involved in the following cases :

a)  Case FIR No. 179/10 u/s 379/411 IPC PS K M Pur.

b)  Case FIR No. 4/11 379/327/411 IPC PS Fatehpur Beri.

c)  Case FIR No. 11/11 u/s 411 IPC PS Fatehpur Beri.

d)  Case FIR No. 15/11 u/s 411 IPC PS Fatehpur Beri.

2.  Arun Kumar Jain (27 years) s/o Milap Chand Jain r/o Ward No. 6, Lord Krishna Apartment, Mehrauli, New Delhi. He is married and runs a jewelry shop in Mehrauli.

Ø  GANG OF DESPERATE ROBBERS BUSTED : 3 ACCUSED ARRESTED

Ø  THREE SENSATIONAL CASES OF ARMED ROBBERY WORKED OUT

With the arrest of three desperate criminals, staff of PS Fatehpur Beri, South District have worked out three sensational cases of armed robberies registered at PSs Ranjit Nagar, Mahendra Park and Bharat Nagar in the last 15 days. Accused persons are desperate criminals who are previously involved in more than 25 cases of murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, robbery, burglary, and theft etc. of various police stations of Delhi.

ACCUSED ARRESTED :

1.  Yad Ram @ Pappu (32 years) s/o Ghisse Ram R/o Village Hiranki, PS Alipur, New Delhi.

2.  Manoj (35 years) s/o Shiv Lal R/o T-235/A-54, Baljeet Nagar, New Delhi.

3.  Sunny (22 years) s/o Avdhesh Kumar R/o H. No-B-493, Shiv Vihar, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi.

BRIEF FACTS :

During the verification of criminals released from jail in recent past, staff of PS Fatehpur Beri zeroed down on some criminals who were previously involved in various heinous cases and recently released on bail. Activities of these criminals were zeroed down and surveillance / close watch was kept on their movements through secret sources. During this process on 20/12/12, secret information was received regarding movements of some suspicious persons near Arjangarh Metro Station in Aaya Nagar, in the area of PS Fatehpur Beri.

Accordingly, a team comprising ASI Surender, HC Raja Ram No. 127/SD, HC Ramesh No. 3158 /SD, HC Yudhveer No. 18/SD, Ct. Naveen No. 3868/SD, Ct. Manoj 3903/SD, Ct. Manoj Dahiya No. 1099/SD and Ct. Kuldeep No. 1460/SD was formed under the close supervision of Inspr. Ved Parkash SHO/Fatehpur Beri and overall supervision of Sh. Rajender Singh, ACP/Mehrauli who laid down a trap near Arjangarh Metro Station at Gurjar Chowk. On tip of the secret informer, three suspicious persons were apprehended by the team and they were identified as Yad Ram @ Pappu, Manoj and Sunny. On search, cash Rs. 12,000/- were recovered from their possession.

INTERROGATION :

During sustained interrogation, they confessed that during last fifteen days they committed several robberies in various parts of Delhi including robberies in the areas of Ranjit Nagar at G.T. Karnal Road and Ashok Vihar. They disclosed the name of their associate namely Babloo and gang leader Sanjay. These facts were verified from the concerned police stations and it came to notice that the trio are wanted in the following cases of armed robberies :

1.  Case FIR No. 235/12, dated 07/12/12, u/s 392/34 IPC PS Ranjit Nagar, New Delhi : On 07/12/12 at around 05:30 AM, the above mentioned criminals along with their other associates Sanjay and Babloo had stopped a TSR at Patel Road in Ranjit Nagar area and robbed his bag containing the laptop and other valuables at gun point.

2.  Case FIR No. 346/12, dated 09/12/12, u/s 394/397/392/34 IPC & 27 Arms Act PS Mahendra Park, New Delhi : On 09/12/12 at around 08:15 PM, the above mentioned criminals along with their other associates namely Sanjay and Babloo deliberately hit two motor cyclist with their car at the by pass, G.T Karnal Road due to which both motor cyclists fell down on road and they had robbed of their bags containing Rs. 3,70,000/- and on resistance by the victims, they also attacked one of them and injured him with knife.

3.  Case FIR No. 271/12, dated 11/12/12, u/s 380/458/34 IPC PS Bharat Nagar, New Delhi : On 11/12/12 at around 07:00 AM, the above mentioned criminals along with their other associates namely Sanjay and Babloo burgled a grocery shop in the area of Ashok Vihar. During this period, an employee who was sleeping in the shop, wake up and when tried to make noise, accused persons injured him and escaped with cash Rs. 10,000/- and costly cigars worth lacs of rupees. During interrogation, accused persons also disclosed that they enjoyed the costly cigars looted from the shop and also distributed among their friends with open hands.

Further on verifying the details of these criminals, it was also found that all the accused persons are previously involved in more than 25 cases of murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, robbery, burglary and theft in various police stations of Delhi, which are pending trial. They further disclosed that today also they had come to conduct reconnaissance in the area for committing robbery at the office of a renowned property dealer where large cash transactions took place. Further efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining accused persons as well as to recover the case property.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED ARRESTED :

1.  Yad Ram @ Paapu S/o Ghisse Ram R/o Village Hiranki, PS Alipur, New Delhi is a school dropout. He is unmarried and works as part time electrician in his native village. He is previously involved in 17 cases of robbery, attempt to murder, theft and Arms Act of PSs Alipur, Anand Parvat, Punjabi Bagh, Hari Nagar and Sarai Rohilla.

2.  Manoj S/o Shiv Lal R/o T-235/A-54, Baljeet Nagar, New Delhi is a school dropout. He is married and has two children. Earlier, he has worked as helper in a private bus. He is previously involved in two cases of murder and Arms Act of PS Maya Puri.

3.  Sunny S/o Avdhesh Kumar R/o H.No- B-493, Shiv Vihar, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi is a school dropout. He is unmarried. He is previously involved in six cases of attempt to murder and theft of PSs Najafgarh, Uttam Nagar, Ranhola and Narela.

RECOVERIES :

1.  Cash Rs. 12,000/- (part of booty robbed in the area of Mahendra Park).
