Charitable Giving Representative
The QEII Foundation inspires generosity to advance health care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre (QEII) – Atlantic Canada’s leading healthcare institution. Renowned for its innovation and leadership in philanthropy, the Foundation is currently seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals to join our team of professionals as a Charitable Giving Representative.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Donor Calling Program, the Charitable Giving Representative position requires an enthusiastic individual who understands the significance of philanthropic giving. The incumbent will assume responsibility for contacting donors by phone. The primary role will be to build and strengthen relationships with donors to seek charitable contributions in support of annual giving programs. The incumbent will demonstrate a high level of professional motivation, sound ethical practices, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possess organization and time management skills. He/she will bring a donor-centered philosophy to all activities and will understand the position is task and project driven, requiring the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, take initiative, provide assistance and follow through in all areas of coordination and implementation.
Position Responsibilities:
- Delivers QEII Foundation key messages to encourage financial support of the QEII Health Sciences Centre programs and services
- Communicates effectively and develops rapport with donors and potential donors
- Works independently and collaboratively as part of a highly successful team of fundraisers and assists others as required
- Follows Foundation guidelines, policies and donor code of ethics
- Assesses donor situation and needs to solicit appropriate gift, with an ongoing goal of increasing gift size and frequency of giving from individual donors
- Inputs information and updates accurately and efficiently using the Foundation CRM program (Raiser’s Edge Software)
- Open to constructive feedback and welcomes instruction and direction
- Attends and participates in training sessions, as required
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong ability to be discreet, maintain confidentiality, and manage emotional conversations
- Superior communication, customer service and relationship management skills
- Computer knowledge and a working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge considered an asset
- Previous work experience with a fundraising organization considered an asset
- Willingness to work evening and weekend shifts
The QEII Foundation offers a highly collaborative and supportive atmosphere; with a flexible working schedule. The position is a part-time role; hours per week flexible. Part-time wage: $11.00 - $15.00 hourly. The QEII Foundation is an equal opportunity employer.
