READ THE FOLLOWING CLOSELY TO KNOW WHAT’S NEXT IN PRACTICUM

Meeting follow up – next steps:

1) Your deadline to sign up for required training is tomorrow (Tuesday 8/29). Samantha should send you an indication if you are ‘Audio’ or ‘Video.’

2) If you are “Audio” sign up for KKOM student radio training on the PAC 116 (KKOM) door. You’ll be assigned a shift by Friday that will start next week. You’ll also do Adobe Audition software training next week. If you’re in RTV 215, you’ll be Audio. Others will know once you get your assignment (watch for an email or checking for a posting at PAC 117 on Tuesday). Those who get a Monday shift—for next week you’ll do any open alternate time starting Tuesday.

3) If you’re ‘Video’ you must be signed up by tomorrow (Tuesday 8/29) for either Camera Training or Final Cut Pro training this week. The one you don’t do this week you’ll do next week. See sign up sheets on PAC 117e and 117f.
Also watch this training video for Camera (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYHVgDb5n2o)and this training video for Final Cut Pro (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UET7QptHtc )

4) We have to work around the Monday holiday. So everyone in Video must come to the TV studio (PAC 123) on Wednesday next week (9/6) at 3:30. We’ll do some studio straightening, some basic studio equipment overview and discuss partner projects.

5) RELATED TO partner projects – you’ll see a different sign up sheet posted this week at PAC 117 for you to indicate if you’re ‘skilled’ or ‘new’ with video production. We will pair people up to work on producing a :60 Promotional Video for ‘Mane Media.’ Check www.tonydemars.com in the coming days for some samples (not necessarily good or bad) of the general type of production to plan for. See more directions on the ‘partner sign up sheet.’ Starting thinking of creative ideas for the promotional video so you can start shooting next week.

It takes some work to get everyone into the routine of training and starting to work – be sure to step up early and ask questions so you don’t get behind.

6) Start keeping a record of your Practicum work hours using Google Docs. Come get help if you don;t know how to do Google Drive. You will create a folder in Drive named YourLastName F17 Practicum and share that folder with both AND -- be sure you create and share it correctly. Again, come ask for help if you're not sure.

AND – experienced students – see a PA by Wednesday to do a proficiency certification if you are already well-trained. The PA schedule is attached—but also double check it against when they will be doing training.
