This two-credit course is designed to provide the student the opportunity to have a better understanding of the capacity of the Internet. The focus of this course is to explore and browse the Internet through the guided study of 12 general modules as well as provide an opportunity for personal exploration.

Please read the following instructions carefully so that you will be successful in completing this course.

Instructions:

1.  Each of the 12 modules needs to be completed. It is not necessary to complete them in the order that they are presented in the workbook.

2.  Complete the Internet log. 20 hours of Internet browsing should be documented.

3.  The Internet is a dynamic media. If for some reason a site is not available or cannot be connected; you may choose an alternative site under the same general area and complete similar questions. If an alternative site is used, you must provide the URL address, an explanation for not using the site in the workbook, and the date and time the site in the workbook was not available.

4.  Typing URL addresses can be tricky. All of the URL’s that are listed have been tested. If a URL address is typed in incorrectly it will not work. Be careful as some inappropriate sites can be reached if you type in an incorrect URL address.

5.  Develop a classroom Internet Exploration Tool for your classroom.

Grading:

(B- or B) - Complete the Internet log, complete all 12 of the modules, and write a research paper from 2 – 3 pages.

(B+ or A-) - Complete the Internet log, complete all 12 of the modules, and write a research paper from 3 – 4 pages.

(A) - Complete the Internet log, complete all 12 of the modules, and write a research paper of 5 or more pages.
