ALERT PATROLLING STAFF RECOVERED A FIVE YEAR OLD MISSING BOY
The alert patrolling staff of PS South Rohini recovered a 5 year old
boy namely Neeraj, who was missing since 12.11.10 from the area of PS
Mianwali, Delhi.
BRIEF FACTS/INCIDENTS :
On 16.11.10 at around 9.00 PM, Ct. Sanjay No. 1300/OD and Ct. Babloo
No. 676/OD of P.S. South Rohini were patrolling in the area of their
Beat. When they reached at Kali Mata Mandir, Sector-3, Rohini, they
halted to have a look in the vicinity to check any suspicious element.
At the same time, they observed a boy of age around 4-5 years was
sitting alone and crying. Both the Constables asked him gently about
his parents and whereabouts but the child was not in a condition to
speak properly and was looking very frail and weak. The Beat
Constables tried to find his parents in the nearby area, but nobody
could tell anything about his parents. The matter was brought into
the notice of SHO South Rohini who alongwith SI Avdesh immediately
reached at Kali Mata Mandir. The SHO also tried to find out the
parents of the boy and had a talk with the boy but the boy could not
tell anything about himself. A wireless message was flashed to
ascertain if any boy of his description had been reported missing in
any Police Station, but no response was received in this regard.
The boy was brought to the Police Station and made comfortable by
taking into consideration the guidelines issued under J. J. Act with
regard to handling of juveniles. Later on, the boy started crying for
his mother and when the police officials again asked about his name,
he told his name as Neeraj. He told that he forgot his way while he
was playing near to his house, a few days ago and since then he kept
on wandering here and there. He had reached at Kali Mata Mandir on
the same day to get food as a ‘Bhandara’ was going on in the Mandir.
The boy did not know much about the address of his house. However, he
could only tell that he lived in Camp No. 4 and the Metro Rail track
passes close to it. The police staff immediately took the boy in
their vehicle to find the residence of the boy and started following
the nearest Metro Rail Track. When the police staff reached Udyog
Nagar, Jwala Puri, the boy started recognizing the vicinity. He then
took the police staff to the street of his house and reached his house
No. A-166, Camp No. 4, Jwala Puri, Udyog Nagar, Mianwali, Delhi. The
parents of the child bewildered with joy on seeing their boy. The boy
was then restored to the parents.
The parents of the boy told the police that on 12.11.10 in the
evening, their son was playing outside the house and went missing.
Initially, they assumed that he would have gone to the house of his
friend and would come later. But when he did not come back till late
in the evening, they started searching for him. When they did not
find him, they brought the matter into the notice of local police.
