JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Project Engineer - FEA
Tenneco Automotive Engineering Centers

POSITION SUMMARY

Conduct structural NVH and durability analyses using FEA on current and new products to provide design direction and verification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Create and analyze finite element models consistent with product use environment.

·  Generate technical reports and present to internal and external customers.

·  Verify (Correlate) simulation results with testing. Demonstrate agreement of simulation with actual measurement.

·  Develop and implement optimization tools to expedite the product development process

·  Work closely with business unit engineers and communicate between our organization and customer as needed.

·  Support Product Development Cycle and APQP (DFMEA, etc.)

·  Participate in the development of improved design guidelines consistent with customer requirements.

·  Applies engineering and problem solving methods and tools (FMEAs, 8ds, stress analysis) in resolving engineering design problems.

·  Perform appropriate level of CAD function to develop design concept.

  Support and adhere to TA EH&S policies and procedures.

·  Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Advanced Degree a plus.

·  Min 2 years of Finite Element Analysis and CAD experience required.

·  Prior experience with structural NVH, Durability, optimization and automotive exhaust product development strongly preferred, total 5 years experience, or 3 years plus Advanced Degree.

·  Experience using the following tools also preferred:

HyperMesh/ HyperWork, MSC/NASTRAN, I-DEAS, UG or Catia experience a plus

·  Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior experience with structural NVH, Durability, optimization and automotive exhaust product development is strongly preferred.

• Experience using the following tools also preferred:

HyperMesh/ HyperWork, MSC/NASTRAN, I-DEAS, UG or Catia experience a plus

• Strong written and verbal communication skills both in English and Chinese.
