The Community Foundation for Carver County Makes Grant to New Beginnings Program
The Community Foundation for Carver County (TCFCC) is pleased to announce a $5000 grant to the New Beginnings Program in the Southwest Metro Cooperative. Funding for the grant was made possible through a generous donation fromthe Paul and Sheila Steiner Foundation. The Steiners initiated an endowed fund with TCFCC several years ago with the expressed intent of funding efforts in support of single mothers.
The New Beginnings Program is a full day, high school diploma program that offers smaller class sizes and one-on-one individual attention.Classes and services are available to pregnant or parenting teens age 20 and under living in Carver or Scott County who have not yet completed their high school education. It is a comprehensive interagency program to support teens and their families in their efforts to obtain a high school diploma, have a healthy pregnancy and childbirth, create and implement a parenting plan, acquire independent living skills, and develop a productive career plan for self sufficiency.
The Community Foundation for Carver County is designed to empower individuals, families and businesses by providing them with the platform to have a direct and lasting impact on Carver County – focusing on connecting donors with their passion. All assets gifted to The Community Foundation for Carver County will remain in the region to have a direct and lasting impact on Carver County communities for generations to come. TCFCC helps regular people become philanthropists.
