Arts in Bartlett, the local 501 (c)3 nonprofit arts council, in cooperation with the Village of Bartlett, Hanover Township, Bartlett Park District, Hanover Park Sister Cities Committee, and the Village of Streamwood Community Relations Committee present an event to celebrate the diversity within our community. Last year 2,500 enjoyed a colorful, exciting, inclusive weekend of multicultural music, art, crafts, dance, food, and audience participation events that broughttogether people of the many nationalities represented in our area.

The Festival is in Bartlett Park, the beautiful shaded park at Oak and North Avenue just north of downtown Bartlett on Saturday & Sunday, June 23-24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.Booths for ethnic artists/crafters/free trade shops/food artisans/nonprofits will be throughout the park, with a family activity center. The main stage will feature musical acts and dancers. Another area will host participatory activities such as yoga, martial arts, dance lessons, drumming circles, henna art. The Gazebo will contain a Family Global Story Circle and multicultural crafts.

A new feature of this year’s festival is a cricket game. Visitors of all ages simply walk up to join a team. They get an opportunity to play, among themselves, some short, safe, informal, cricket games pretty much as they're played around the world. Continuous walkup basis for 4-5 hours with each individual game taking 30/45 minutes. The organizer, Tom Melville, of Hands On Cricket stages these all over the Midwest. He provides all the equipment, national cricket uniforms, and signs and charges a fee to conduct the games.

We invite you to be part of this exciting new community event as a sponsor of the Cricket Game. This will provide you with a unique opportunity to connect with the community in an exciting and entertaining environment, develop new business relationships, and perform an important community service. A program with a directory and map of activities and booths, entertainment schedule and sponsor ads will be produced by the Examinerand distributed to 11,000 homes as a pullout in the June 20th issue.
