School uniform and equipment

Our ethos and expectations

We aim to introduce a business-like atmosphere and attitude to everything we do at Thomas Clarkson Academy. A professional approach will help everyone to focus on the job in hand which is learning and teaching.

Like all businesses Thomas Clarkson Academy have the highest expectations of everyone. The uniform is a reflection of that attitude and the way in which we all present ourselves is an important part of setting these standards and achieving challenging goals.

The Academy’s uniform was decided upon after involving the student council, staff and uniform professionals. The result is therefore one that we are all agreed on and need to be worn with pride.

Ties are the exception to the rule and should your child lose a tie, a replacement can be purchased by putting money on the cash loader in Eden and obtaining a receipt for payment through the Academy Catering Team, a tie can then be collected from your childs’ Progress Worker.

Care of uniform and PE/dance kit

Lockers are provided for students to keep their kit stored safely away. The school is NOT responsible for the loss of student’s personal belongings.
Use the lockers rather than carrying items around all day. The same advice applies to mobile phones and MP3 players. Use of these items during
lessons is totally unprofessional and not appropriate business practice.
As a minimum, students should always attend lessons with
appropriate books, pens, pencils, rubbers and a ruler.
Planners should also always be brought to a lesson to
record notes and homework.
