The job purpose
To work with the Director of Partnerships, The Schools and the Project Team to promote, secure, co-ordinate and monitor Abertay’s activities in the Learning 2 Work 2: Education for Enterprise Project and to ensure compliance with the project procedures and administrative requirements.
What you’ll be expected to
  • Work with partners in developing Abertay’s involvement in the Learning to work 2 programme for the benefit of Undergraduate students, the University, schools, students and employers;
  • Manage the administrative duties associated with the development of this project;
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with partners in the development of this project;
  • Seek, provide information orally and in written reports to relevant external and internal contacts as required;
  • Liaise with appropriate academic staff across UAD Schools/Institute to identify placement needs across a range of subject areas;
  • Seek and select appropriate work placements for students across a range of subject areas that will contribute mutually to the students’ experience, the University and the employer;
  • Select, with the help of employers, appropriate work placement mentors for students on placement;
  • Provide support to both student and placement mentor during the placement period;
  • Manage data and information systems associated with the project;
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in the project as a means of ensuring sustainability of the activities beyond the project tenure
  • Provide high quality reports for Line Manager, the University, Partner Institutions;
  • Co-ordinate the selection of students for the placements and
  • Uphold University Policies and Procedures in all activities undertaken.

  • Develop links with employers both locally and beyond, to establish work placements and work-based projects that are to the mutual benefit of students across a range of subject areas.
  • To work with academic staff in embedding work related placements within or adjacent to curricula in a meaningful and sustainable fashion.
  • This post will be fixed term until 31st July 2013.
