The 2007 Live Oak Jaguar’s Flag Football team finished the regular season with a very competitive and hard fought game against the JR Rockets. This game was full of energy and excitement for both teams. Both teams played very competitively and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship. Even in the loss, the Jaguars continued to show the determination and commitment that has made them one of the best flag teams in all of TYFA this year. GREAT JOB BOYS – KEEP IT UP IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!.
The Jaguars defense was consistently in the backfield making plays all game long and with the exception of a few breakdowns on outside containment, the Jr Rockets had a tough time getting the ball downfield. All in all, it was a fine defensive performance against a very athletic and capable opponent. We will work on a few things before the playoffs to try and shore up what has become a very solid defense throughout the season.
The Jaguars offense struggled at first but made some adjustments and began to move the ball well against a very solid Jr Rocket Defense. Both QB’s had some nice passes and the receivers did their job on several occasions. The running game worked well, inside and outside during the second half. The offensive line did an outstanding job the entire game.
All of the Jaguar’s players got a chance to participate and it was especially meaningful for the 11 players who will be moving on to tackle football with the Midgets next year. We all hope that the 9 five year olds will return next year to continue the Jaguar Flag Football tradition. To all of the parents, thank you for your assistance, patience and allowing us to coach your sons not only in football but the value of hard work and sportsmanship.
To all Jaguars Flag Players: The coaches, team coordinators and parents are all very proud of each and every one of you for the determination, commitment and desire you showed in achieving a team goal. Remember, in all aspects of life, always do your best all of the time and the results will take care of themselves because – Hard Work –Pays Off!!
The Playoffs start on 10 Nov and it will be time to “Rumble in the Jungle”.
