Feed the Minds – Programme Intern
Feed the Minds, an ecumenical Christian international development organisation, is looking to recruit an intern to work in our small Programme team, 1-2 days a week for a 6 month period, starting at the beginning of February 2014 (office based in Vauxhall, London).
Feed the Minds works through local partners in developing countries to deliver innovative education projects to improve people’s lives. We receive over 400 applications a year from community organisations from around the world, and are implementing a new process for managing these. The intern will support in processing new enquiries, and alongside the Programme team, will shortlist proposals in line with our partnership criteria. The intern will also provide administrative support to the programme team as required.
The successful candidate will benefit from inside knowledge and practical experience of an international development organisation, and in particular gain understanding of community development projects. Training will be given on The Raiser’s Edge, a popular NGO database.
Person specification:
- Interest in international development at the grass roots level
- Strong attention to detail and good written communication skills
- Confidence with Microsoft Office
- The ability to multi-task
- Ability to work on own and as part of a team
- Experience or a degree in international development
- Reasonable expectation of being able to commit 1-2 days per week
- The right to live and work in the UK
