You are free to terminate your employment with Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services at any time, with or without a reason, and Women’s Center-YFS has the right to terminate your employment or the employment of others at any time, with or without a reason. Although Women’s Center-YFS may choose to terminate employment for cause, cause is not required. This is called “at-will” employment.
Most employees at Women’s Center-YFS are funded by a variety of grants, governmental programs and endowment sources. Continued employment is contingent upon continued receipt of those funds.
Description:Responsible for overseeing victim services programs and staff including the Sexual AssaultDirect Services Program, Rape Crisis Hospital Response, Stockton Police Department Sexual Assault Program, the Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) Program as well direct service specialists who work with both domestic violence and sexual assault victims.Provides back up support services to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and their families or significant others and assists in providing educational services to the community. Also responsible for collecting data and the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required as well as monitoring program budgets and operating plans.
Employment Requirements:
- 4-year degree or Associates degree and four years managerial experience.
- Ability to lift supplies up to 25 lbs. to waist height.
- Must be able to ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs throughout the course of a normal workday.
- Fingerprint clearance required.
- Successful completion of Victims’ Assistance Training.
- Reliable transportation, valid California Driver’s License, and proof of insurance.

Essential Functions of a Manager:
- Works well with Director of Programs and other members of Management Team.
- Interview and hire direct service staff. Provide orientation training to ensure staff have the necessary expertise to carry out their jobs.
- Effective supervisory/leadership skills and ability to motivate staff and volunteers.
- Achieves competitive advantage and fosters a learning environment by taking responsibility for identifying and developing staff.
- Supervise staff and mentor volunteers, i.e., observe counseling and group sessions, monitor direct service program scheduling and assignment of duties, conduct performance reviews and take disciplinary action, when appropriate.
- Ensure all direct service staff receive required program training and opportunities for training that enhances professional development.
- Expresses ideas effectively (both verbally and in writing) and makes it “safe” for others to do the same; is committed to sharing knowledge and keeping others informed.
- Ability to actively participate in and contribute to a culture where individual experiences are respected, shared, and used in the decision-making process. Is as willing to take lead of team as to be led by others when they step up.

- Provide back up coverage for all 24/7 operations including shelters and hospital response.
- Maintain a network of communication and cooperation community partners and other stakeholders with which Women’s Center-YFS works.
- Identify and establish contacts to publicize services available through the Direct Services Program.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of media campaigns.
- Research, formulate, evaluate, and update direct service program materials as needed.
- Oversee and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Regularly attend Program Committee, staff meetings, in-service trainings and other meetings as assigned.
- Keep Director of Programs regularly informed of plans, methods and/or process changes.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Coordinate and monitor 24 hour sexual assault helpline and sexual assault response services. Directly provide or coordinate on-call back up as needed.
- Participate in state coalition activities, conference calls and events.
- Working collaboratively with other SA/DV Program Manager, provide guidance and direction to SA/DV Department, create schedules and determine direct report assignment.
- Provide crisis intervention, follow-up, advocacy, accompaniment, counseling, group, and referral services to sexual assault and domestic violence victims and their families or significant others.
- Participate in individual and group case review (case management).
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs.
