LAS VEGAS- April 8, 2013—This week at the 2013 National Association of Broadcasters Show (NAB), MPS Broadband announced how Peer2View, using Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Azure Media Services Live, can help solve the issues associated with streaming live video over corporate and private networks.

Peer2View, first announced by MPS at NAB in April 2011, isa software-based distribution technology that facilitates the delivery of live and linear adaptive bit rate videousing secure and dynamically created peer networks. Taking advantage of the power of Peer2View and the reach and scalability of Windows Azure Media Services Live Origin servers, MPS Broadband, has created a solution that mitigates the need for any type of CDN or multicast hardware when delivering live video within corporate and private networks.

“We are very pleased to be collaborating with Microsoft to bring Peer2view Corporate to the market,” said George Richards, General Manager, MPS Broadband Americas. “MPS is a strong proponent of the Windows Azure Media Services ecosystem and we believe that Windows Azure Media Services Live and Peer2View have the potential to help revolutionize the live video streaming space.”

MPS plans to announce early adopters of this solution over the next couple of months and will make it readily available to the public during the latter half of 2013.

“Windows Azure Media Services gives customers a highly scalable and reliable platform of ready-to-use services for cloud-based digital video preparation and delivery,” said Sudheer Sirivara, director, Windows Azure Media Services, Microsoft. “We are excited thatMicrosoft’s cloud platform enables MPS to deliver live and linear video for enterprises, universities, hospitals and other entities.”
