The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is the independent body created by Parliament in 2009 to regulate and administer MPs’ pay, pensions, business costs and expenses. We ensure transparency and fairness in the way MPs are remunerated and reimbursed for their business costs and expenses, processing around 15,000 claims for costs and expenses each month and publishing the details of these every two months.

We are going through a period of significant change with the implementation of a major new IT system to support our work. We are looking for administrative support for the payroll team to enable us to continue to provide a high quality service during this challenging period.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Monthly payroll filing duties relating to MP’s and their staff
  • Logging payroll post received on MS Excel
  • Routing all payroll emails received in the CRM throughout the day
  • Posting all pension letters to new starters monthly

What we are looking for:

You will have good communication skills and an eye for detail. Good customer service is central to our work so you should will need good people skills as well as MS Office (Word & Excel). A GCSE or equivalent English and Mathematics qualification will be helpful.

Job Purpose: / Providing support to a very busy payroll team in the form of filing and general administrative duties.
Job Context: / Part of IPSA’s role as Parliamentary regulator is to provide a full payroll service to MP’s and their staff, totalling more than 3,000 individuals, as well as IPSA staff. Our work requires patience, diplomacy and attention to detail as we interact with our stakeholders on a daily basis, ensuring the best quality service is provided.
