G.O.S.H. Got Game Tournament Rules


All NYS Game Rules Apply except for the following:

In an effort to control the integrity in Amateur Basketball we will be requiring teams to bring birth certificates and a roster for every eligible player.Below is how we will be handling the challenges on Age ineligible players.

Players who are found to be illegal will be ejected immediately, their team will also be assessed a technical foul.

On a challenge of a player’s age on an opposing team that is not correct your team will lose a time out(full) and are assessed a technical foul. Only head coaches are allowed to challenge the legitimacy or eligibility of an opposing player. Fans, parents, and assistant coaches are not allowed to make an official challenge. All challenges need to be done before game play. Teams are only allowed to challenge their opponent’s roster if they have proper documentation with birth certificates.

Offenders that are caught:

1.  1stOffense is an ejected player and a technical foul assessed as explained above

2.  2nd Offense team will be removed from the tournament

BOYS AGE/GRADE DIVISIONS-

·  Boys divisions shall be based on age for 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U under the criteria listed below. The only exceptionwill be for 12U, 13U, 14U "A/Elite Divisions" which will go by grade

·  Age/Grade based divisions shall beused for the following: 15U/9th grade, 16U/10thgrade, 17U/11th grade, 19U/12th grade.

·  9 & UNDER: An athlete can not turn 10 until June 1, 2017or later

·  10 & UNDER: An athlete can not turn 11 until June 1, 2017or later

·  11 & UNDER: An athlete can not turn 12 until June 1, 2017or later

o  For A/Elite Division anathlete must be in the 5th grade as of October 1, 2016and can be no older than 12 on August 31, 2017

·  12 & UNDER: An athlete can not turn 13 until June 1, 2017or later

o  For A/Elite Division an athlete must be in the 6th grade as of October 1, 2016and can be no older than 13 on August 31, 2017

·  13 & UNDER: An athlete can not turn 14 until June 1, 2017or later

o  For A/Elite Division an athlete must be in the 7th grade as of October 1, 2016and can be no older than 14on August 31, 2017

·  14 & UNDER: An athlete can not turn 15 until June1, 2017or later

o  For A/Elite Division an athlete must be in the 8th grade as of October 1, 2016and can be no older than 15on August 31, 2017

·  9TH GRADE:An athlete can be no older than 15 on August 31, 2017. Grade Exception: An athlete who is in the 9th grade as of October 1, 2016and who is no older than 16 on August 31, 2017is eligible to play in the 15U/9th grade division.

·  10TH GRADE:An athlete can be no older than 16 on August 31, 2017. Grade Exception: An athlete who is in the 10th grade as of October 1, 2016and who is no older than 17 on August 31, 2017is eligible to play in the 16U/10th grade division.

·  HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY: An athlete can be no older than 19 on August 31, 2017. Grade Exception: An athlete who is in the 12th grade as of October 1, 2016and who is no older than 20 on August 31, 2017is eligible to play in the High School Varsity division.


Teams will play 16-minute Stop Time Halves


Teams will use full size ball

In the case of a 20+ point lead with less than eight minutes to play, the clock will run non-stop with the exception of timeouts or injuries. In the second half, if there is 30 point lead the clock will run non-stop.

PRESSING is allowed unless margin is 20 points or more.

If a team forfeits a game, they will be REMOVED from the tournament


Each team gets 3 timeouts per game (2 full, 1-30 second), One (1) additional timeout per OT period.

**No carryovers on timeouts entering overtime**

Players are only allowed to play on one team; however, a player may play on one additional team as long it is ABOVE their age group and WITHIN their program.

Teams are allowed ONLY 3 bench personnel for games, ONLY 2 coach will get in free. Only the 2 Coaches getting in FREE MUST sign in.

In all other situations, High School rules will be applied. The G.O.S.H INC. Tournament Director has final say on all other rulings.

Teams will play 2-minute overtime period

1 and 1 Bonus on the 10th Team Foul
Double Bonus on the 12th Team Foul
(2) Minute Halftime
(2) Minute Warm Up Time Between Games

(Please be prepared to play 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time)
Any player or coach ejected from the game will not be allowed to participate or coach in their next game.
A player fouls out after the 5th foul.

Score/Scorekeeper and Timer– Tournament host (GOSH Warriors) will provide. Will also be the Official score book.

The G.O.S.H INC. expects all players, coaches, parents, spectators, and staff to act in an appropriate manner. If a situation arises WE reserve the right to remove a person from the site

The first team listed on the schedule is the home team.
No protests.

ALL TEAMS MUST BE AT THEIR ASSIGNED GYMS 30 MINUTES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE 8A GAMES (REPORT AT 745A).PRIOR TOTHEIR SCHEDULED GAME TIMES AND MUST BE READY TO PLAY 5 MINUTES AFTER THE PREVIOUS GAME HAS ENDED.

All teams must have white and dark jerseys with numbers.

All teams must bring their own basketballs.

TERMS OF FORFEIT

· Game will be forfeited after 15 minutes after scheduled start time.

· Game will not be forfeited without authorization of the tournament director, Coach Tracee

The tournament representatives at the site will contact her via cell phone/Walkie Talkie

NOTE: ZERO TOLERANCE FOR FIGHTING OR LEAVING THE BENCH.

***GOSH is not responsible for any delays, forfeits and/or teams that get ejected from the tournament. There will be no refunds.
