November 5th Workshop, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, Lutheran Church of Our Savior
We will meet at 9:00 am with set-up at 8:30 am. The following are the Christmas items being offered. We will have a short business meeting at 10:30 am. The Guild will provide coffee and juice. There will not be any major refreshments so eat breakfast before you come. If you would like to bring a snack item, please do – but this is not required. Teachers will be set up at tables and you will travel between stations.
What do you need? Bring your basket tools especially small packing tools, scissors or cutters, towel, small pail, small clips, and super glue. The cost for the material for the decoration is listed in the description. Please bring correct change – start saving your quarters now. The picture shows the small clips and super glue (liquid or gel) that are recommended. The clips can be purchased at places like Radio Shack and the glue at Walmart, etc.

Ornamental Ball – Denise Gillam. Using the provided natural and red round reed, students will twine and then use 3-rod wale to shape an ornamental ball. Emphasis will be on shaping. Cost $1.00
Reindeer – Sandy Roback. Students will use painted watercolor paper to make the reindeer. The painted watercolor paper will be provided. Cost $0.50.
Christmas Bell – Priscilla Phillips. Using the provided natural and dyed #2 round reed, students will twine to weave a Christmas Bell. The rolled border provides the base. Cost $1.00.
Simple Decorations – Peggy McCarson – materials provided.
Wreath - Using #0 round natural, students will braid the wreath and shape as you go. You may choose to weave the ends together or cross them at the bottom. Cost $0.50.
Reed Bow – Using 3/8” or ½” FF, students will have the choice of making bows for packages or attaching a pin on the back to wear as a brooch. Cost $0.50.
Christmas Flower – Using 5 pieces of 3/16” FO, students will bend the reed to make 5 petals and then attach the petals to each other. Finish with a small gingerbread man. Cost $0.50

7” Carolina Snowflake Ornament Materials: ¼” Flat reed, Cut 12 pieces 7” long for each
Snowflake; Micro clips, Small Alligator clips, available at Radio Shack or any small metal
type clamps; Super Glue (Loctite Brand gel not liquid Lowe’s/WalMart); or Glue Gun
(takes longer for glue to set up); clear plastic thread/fishing line to hang ornament;
Optional - Glossy White Spray Paint; Optional - Glitter

¼” Flat or flat oval filler spokes, cut 4 @ 10” ; #2 Round reed, natural, twine, 10’;
¼” or 7mm Flat reed, weavers, 20’; ½” Flat reed, rim pieces, 4’;
