News from St David’s Church

The third joint service for the Ministry Area of Brecon was held on Sunday, 30th October when we were joined here in Llanddew by the congregations of St Mary’s and St David’s, Llanfaes. The service was led by Father Stephen Griffin assisted by Rev Judy Day. During the service the children from Llanfaes held their Sunday School in the Giraldus Room. After the service refreshments were served by the ladies from Llanddew and grateful thanks are extended to everyone for their contributions of cakes etc.

The next joint service will be held in St David’s Church, Llanfaes on Sunday, 29th January when Bishop John will be inaugurating the new Ministry Area for Brecon.

Our Remembrance Service was led by Rev Liz Wilson. At the end of the service we had to say a fond goodbye to Liz who was returning to her Diocese in Leicester. Liz has spent a month in the Cathedral and the wider Ministry Area of Brecon as part of her training. During her time here, she has led two services for which we are extremely grateful.

Christmas Tree Festival in the Cathedral - to be held from Friday 9th December to Monday 12th December where Christmas trees will be erected by various organisations in the Brecon area including Llanddew Church. Car parking in the village - would everyone kindly note when parking in the vicinity of the village crossroads as this can cause obstruction for heavy farm machinery to pass.
