Hypothesis: Increase student greater success

Conclusion: No significant difference between groups

Hypothesis: Decrease student withdrawals

Conclusion: Withdrawals were reduced but not significantly

Hypothesis: Reduce faculty time spent on technical issues

Annually the Office of Compliance and Audit performs a college-wide risk assessment, in collaboration with senior leaders and other key stakeholders, to assess the risk and control environment of the college. Cynthia Santiago will be presenting the risk assessment and proposed audit plan for 2017 – 2018 to the District Board of Trustees at the Sept. 27th meeting. If you have any concerns related to risk and/or internal controls within the college, please contact Cynthia at 407-582-3253 to discuss. This is a continuous process of evaluation, therefore, always know that Cynthia is available as a resource to you at any time throughout the year. Cynthia will present at an upcoming meeting to discuss further on the risk assessment process, the audit plan and the importance of ensuring internal controls within your daily responsibilities.

Email has gone out to the entire association to solicit volunteers on a variety of work teams.

  1. College-wide Faculty Association Discussions
  • Canvas for Grades and Syllabus

It has been suggested that faculty should be required to at least use Canvas for grades and syllabus.Faculty Responses – Too early to make that decision. Questions: What do they mean by grades? All grades, specific grades? Have you considered that other websites show grades such as MathLab? Compatibility?

  • Ombudsman Program Proposal – proposal attached

Have people on every campus who can act as a liaison for any faculty or staff member who may have any issues. Faculty council representative would be the liaison, it would be an extension of duties. Questions: How will staff be represented? Didn’t we already discuss that this is not what we want because these positions should not be short term?
