ORS Monitoring Update – Marty Rotter / ORS Staff is refining a checklist. As soon as it is completed, it will be posted to the internet on the GAHSC site.
Any problems related to the implementation of oversight of LOC standards are due to inexperienced staff and heavy caseload.
ORS reports that providers are asking for medical test that are not require such as aids, drugs, and pregnancy tests. This is an expense for the State.
Education of DFCS concerning LOC – Update – Amy Hale /

Many DFCS county offices are not familiar with LOC and its procedures. The State is asking for help from providers to education the State.

The CASSII (Child and Adolescent Service Intensity Instrument will be used to determine levels. FP/BP Providers will be brought into the discussions.
The Technology Committee will look at data elements generated by LOC. State people and providers will work together on this. /

Ron Scroggy, Sally Buchanan, and Amy Hale will work together to develop training materials.

Abe Wilkerson, Chair of GAHSC Technology Committee, will be contacted by Sally Buchanan to discuss these elements.
Appeals Process – Update – Amy Hale
/ As of March 1, agencies that were reviewed were immediately reimbursed at the new level rate regardless of the 30 day grace period because of language regarding LOC implementation for March 1.
Questions were raised about providers attending the local MATCH committees. /

Amy Hale will forward the appeals process to GAHSC for posting.

Amy Hale will review the consent degree to see what is says about providers attending the local MATCH Committees.
Reimbursement – Clothing – Danny Elmore & Alan Davis /

Annual clothing allowance is allowed each year.

Allan Davis will clarify this policy for publication to providers.

Medicaid Cards – Update – Amy Hale /

Levels 4-6 providers desire to get Medicaid Cards. These cards will be immediately available by notifying DFCS Regional Directors about any problems with securing the cards. There is a move to get all foster children on a gold card versus a green card.

Childrenin Parental Custody in Division of Mental Health – Margaret Bradford /

CSB’s will get applications for LOC. Double billing issues have been worked out.

Foster Parent Training Update – Sally Buchanan

Providers are waiting an answer to whether alternative trainings can be allowed.

Support of the Services Committee – Meeting on June 9th, 1:30 – Sally Buchanan /

The Services and the Finance Committees will meet jointly on June 9, 2004.
