From Captain Rick Wanless

It's February already. The weather is dry and hot, just like the course. Everyone and everything needs water, so keep hydrated.

We only had 5 people here for the presentation draw on Saturday night. Three times we tried to draw out a name for $325 with no luck. February sees it go to 4 draws and the Monthly Medal is on the first Saturday, the draw will be worth $350, so be here to win.

The third Saturdaybrings one of my favourite golf games, the Irish Par event. It's a par event where you get to take the shots where you want. It's a bit of fun so make a group and have a game.

Remember a bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work.

These are some “before” shots of our practice fairway taken from the area adjacent to the carpark.

In the foreground is the new members’ grass tee area. This tee area is going to be made a lot bigger with pop-up sprinklers on it. There is still a lot of work to be done to this tee area. Watch this space (and the actual tee area) for some “during” and “after” scenes.

The new Driving Range is underway. The new range will be 290m long. This tee area will be hitting off mats and using floating golf balls. There will be 6 hitting bays.

Our lady members are holding their Annual Open Day on Wednesday 22nd February and are in urgent need of extra motorised carts for guest players. We are looking for any members who would be willing to hire their carts out for the day. At present, we have entries that depend on a cart so you would be aiding the success of our day.
