ORDER

This is a petition of Ms.Indu Kaushik against M/s NPCL alleging excessive

billing in respect of a small manufacturing unit at Surajpur site-C, Industrial

Area, Greater Noida.

According to the petitioner, she is having a small manufacturing paper cup

unit at D-24, site-C, Surajpur Ind. Area, Gr. Noida, using small electric

machine. According to the consumer, the 2-3 months meter reading seems

quite erraticwhich is not correct according to the past consumption pattern

of the unit.So, it has been requested that the matter may be investigated

asa very small increase of few hundred rupees is quite pinching.

The respondent NPCL has filed a written statement (per cp-3) denying the

excessive billing. It has been alleged that there is no excessive billing in

2-3 months in each year and the meter installed at consumer’s premises is

giving a correct readings of actual consumption of electricity, the fact has

been substantiated by the meter inspection certificate dated 06-04-2011 of

the meter testing and consumer’s petition is liable to be dismissed having

nomerit, annex; D-1 has been annexed with the reply.

This Forum has given opportunity to both the parties&to arrive at a logical

conclusion and in order to assure the consumer the correct position of the

consumption at her manufacturing unit,ordered installation of a check meter.

A checkmeter was installed by the electricity supplier NPCL and filed a

report with the reply dtd.01-07-2011.The consumer’sdetailsper cp-10/2

check meter certificate cp-10/1which bears the signatures of the consumer

has revealed that the main meter the check meter tested in the presence of

the consumer Ms. Indu Kaushik . Accuracy of the main meter found within

limits of both the meters, main and check meter are working in normal.

Consumer is satisfied with the meter testing.

Thus the Forum is of the considered view that the apprehensions of the

consumer regarding the excessive billing of her manufacturing unit is not

based upon any sound proof and the readings were recorded correctly.

ORDER: Consumer’s petition is dismissed.
