Invitation

In 2009, the Medical Council of India (MCI) officially amended its Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) regulations to state that “experimental work on animals can be demonstrated by Computer Aided Education”.

MCI’s new policy allows Indian medical schools to completely eliminate animal use in MBBS curricula, as has been done in 95 per cent of programmes in the US and in every programme across Canada and the UK. These institutions instead use didactic methods, human-patient simulators, supervised clinical practice and interactive, computer-aided learning simulations.

To familiarise MBBS programmes with these MCI-approved non-animal training methods, this free continuing medical education (CME) workshop will feature lectures and simulation demonstrations from medical experts.

On behalf of the organising committee and with thanks to St John’s Medical College for hosting this event, we extend a warm welcome and invite you to attend this CME workshop to modernise your MBBS curricula.

With regards and best wishes,
