Job Title:Junior Application and Procurement Officer
Salary:£13,000 to £18,000
Reports to:Head of Applications
Purpose of Job:
To be a member of a team responsible for development, delivery and support of software applications, systems and procurement for schools.
Principal Responsibilities:
£13,000
- To be part of a team of ICT professionals who provide and contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of all server, network and end user hardware, software and associated services, from installation through to disposal.
- As part of a team, help to ensure that service objectives are achieved in line with agreed standards, project management methodologies, budgetary constraints and timescales.
- To provide a central ICT point of contact for all schools, receiving requests from multiple sites via various communication channels, recording, prioritising and assigning all calls onto the Help Desk system.
- To ensure the Help Desk system is used effectively and efficiently.
- To respond to help desk calls and give advice to users using predefined scripts and procedures.
- To assist on small scale ICT projects with direction and assistance.
- To use available technologies to provide a first line support service where possible, diagnosing and resolving incidents on first contact, or assigning to relevant teams.
- To assist the Head of Applications in ensuring that the Help Desk is staffed in accordance with published times on Service Level Agreements.
- To comply with security, change control and audit trail procedures for systems, software, licensing, integration and interfaces in accordance with information security policies and guidelines.
- To undertake creation, amendment and deletion of school user accounts for the domain, email and the internet in accordance with existing procedures and protocols.
- To comply with agreed standards in the timely and effective use of the ICT Help Desk system to aid in the smooth management of incidents and problems across the ICT service for the benefit of its customers.
- To provide a full quotation, ordering and scheduling service with guidance for end user ICT equipment.
- To ensure that orders are progressed, controlled and entered onto the Financial Management system ensuring that all third party details are accurate.
- To receive and check deliveries ensuring that items are as requested and logged into the Financesystem.
- To manage stocks of hardware, software and consumables.
- To be responsible fortraining room bookings and setup.
- To maintain the efficient operation and support of the school websites with guidance from Senior Team Members.
- To support and maintain effective liaison with users ensuring that a customer focused approach is embedded in all activities.

All of the above plus the following:
- To respond independently to ICT problems within schools with some guidance.
- To identify and implement the resolution of problems by using analytical thinking and utilising all available technology and knowledge base tools with some guidance.
- To provide and maintain price lists to ensure customers have up to date information when costing new hardware and software prior to raising the order with some guidance from Senior Team Members.
- To provide a full quotation, ordering and scheduling service with some guidance for end user ICT equipment that includes ensuring that technical considerations are acknowledged.
- To support and maintain effective liaison and communication with users ensuring that a customer focused approach is embedded in all activities.
- To work on small scale IT projects with some direction and assistance or assisting with and making contribution to large scale/major IT projects with direction and assistance from more senior team members.
- To maintain the efficient operation and support of the school websites with some guidance from Senior Team Members.
- To report problems to suppliers eg Capita, Microsoft, ClearDB and all equipment suppliers to ensure any issues are dealt with in a timely manner.

All of the above plus the following:
- To respond independently to ICT problems within schools with minimal guidance

- To provide and maintain price lists to ensure customers have up to date information when costing new hardware and software prior to raising the order with minimal guidance from Senior Team Members.
- To provide a full quotation, ordering and scheduling service with minimal guidance for end user ICT equipment that includes ensuring that technical considerations are acknowledged and suppliers are contacted for the best possible prices.
- To maintain a good level of technical knowledge in relation to IT equipment ordered.
- To maintain the efficient operation and support of the school website with minimal guidance from Senior Team Members.
- To support and maintain effective liaison and communication with users at all levels ensuring that a customer focused approach is embedded in all activities.
- To work on small scale IT projects without direction and assistance or assisting with and making contribution to large scale/major IT projects with some direction and assistance from more senior team members.
- To maintain the efficient operation and support of the school web sites with some guidance from Senior Team Members.
- To report problems to and liaise with suppliers eg Capita, Microsoft, Clear db and all equipment suppliers if information is needed by them and ensure any issues are dealt with in a timely manner.

EssentialCapacity for independent travel
£13,000 : GCSE (A-C) or equivalent to include English Language and Mathematics or relevant experience.
