Due to the rain affected track and with further rain forecast Stewards directed that mudguards be fitted for all races. Sectional times were not enforced due to the wet track.

RACE 1 – IMPARTIAL STAKES DIVISION ONE – 2200 METRES

SOEZETOCEE and FREYDE were held up for a clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.

Passing the 100 metres KOUPER BAILEY hung out and as a result locked wheels with CARDINAL BALBOA, inconveniencing that gelding.

Driver Todd Rattray (FREYDE) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(a), the particulars being that passing the 200 metres he shifted from a peg line position to a four wide position when insufficiently clear of FARRYN, taking that filly out and contacting MAJOR SYSTEM and as a result MAJOR SYSTEM broke gait. Mr Rattray’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of two race dates, commencing midnight 9th August 2015 and expiring midnight 23rd August 2015.

RACE 2 – CLIFF ROBINS MEMORIAL – 1680 METRES

TAMBROS MILLY was declared a late scratching at 10:40am due to the filly being lame in the off fore leg. TAMBROS MILLY has been stood down from racing for a period of 28 days.

METRO MOUSE was declared a late scratching at 1:22pm as the colt had an elevated temperature. METRO MOUSE has been stood down from racing for a period of 28 days.

Trainer Barrie Rattray was fined the sum of $50 pursuant to AR 210 for his late driver notification on PENSTOCK BOY.

ROCKNROLL DANCER which was out of position at the start will continue to be placed out of the draw for future mobile start events.

PENSTOCK BOY raced rough after the start and rounding the first turn.

Justin Howlett, driver of DUCTAPE, was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR 163(1)(b), the particulars being that he commenced to shift off the pegs prior to the candy pole which as a result forced KARALTA STARDUST (John Walters) and IDEN AMRAK (Dylan Ford) wider on the track.

RACE 3 – BEENA BUSTER STAKES – 2200 METRES

The all clear to this event was delayed to enable stewards to view the replay of the start. After doing so stewards were satisfied that PUSHKIN NZ was not facing forward when the start was affected and subsequently declared PUSHKIN NZ a non runner.

A false start was declared on the first occasion as the strands did not release simultaneously. The front line tape was subsequently replaced.

WEALTHY WARRIOR NZ and DOBOP galloped out and have been placed on their last chance in the draw for future standing start events.

GAVRAIL swung sideways at the start and as a result KARALTA DAZZLER was checked and broke. GAVRAIL has been stood down from standing start events until the completion of a satisfactory trial and also placed right out of the draw.

CHIEF DESTROYER and WEALTHY WARRIOR NZ were held up for clear racing room on the latter part of the home turn and early in the home straight.

RACE 4 – BEENAS GIFT STAKES – 1680 METRES

The start of this event was delayed due to driver Tim Yole accidently dropping his whip in the preliminary.

The start was then further delayed when SIGN OF ORO broke in the score up inconveniencing FIOKI and as result a false start was declared. SIGN OF ORO has been placed out of the draw for future mobile start events.

DEN JO ART hung out after the start, at the same time TRIED AND TRUE hung in, inconveniencing DEN JO ART. Shortly after TRIED AND TRUE then continued to hang in inconveniencing JACCKA LEN NZ. TRIED AND TRUE has been placed on its last chance to race truly for hanging in.

On the turn into the home straight on the first occasion SPLENDID CHOICE momentarily raced in afour wide position when JACCKA LEN NZ commenced a forward move ahead of that gelding.

SPLENDID CHOICE commenced to tire from the 600 metres before breaking gait near the 500 metres. The gelding has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

RACE 5 – DIEHARD DILLON PACE – 1680 METRES

The start of this event was two minutes behind schedule due to the delay in the previous race.

TRULY BLISSFULL which broke after the start has been placed out of the draw for future mobile start events. TRULY BLISSFULL then pulled hard in the middle stages, hitting its sulky wheel causing it to carry a near side flat tyre for the remainder of the event.

COMPLY OR DIE NZ which hung out under pressure rounding the home turn and was unresponsive to its driver has been placed on its last chance to race truly. ALL I CAN BE which was trailing was then able to obtain an inside run.

RAJAH WEALTH was held up for clear racing room in the early part of the home straight.

RACE 6 – JILLIAN ROBINS MEMORIAL – 2200 METRES

FUNDAMENTALIST which shifted out and broke approaching the 200 metres has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

Rounding the turn into the home straight CEMENTO RAPIDO shifted out under pressure, inconveniencing FORTINO and ARK BREEZE.

GLAMOUR ART was held up for a clear racing in the home straight until establishing a run near the 100 metre mark.

RACE 7 – TENIRAMA CLAIMER – 2200 METRES

JOHNNYACE which galloped out has been placed on its last chance in the draw.

LUV THA ACES LOMBO which galloped out has been placed out of the draw for future standing start events as the gelding was already on its last chance in the draw.

GIVITANAME was held up for clear racing room in the early part of the home straight.

RACE 8 – FAKE IDEE PACE – 2200 METRES

Trainer Ben Yole advised stewards that IN HOUSE would be driven with a sit in this event due to the runners drawn inside with notable gate speed. IN HOUSE was driven accordingly.

ONEMORELAUGH hung in in the score up and then hung in throughout the event.

WILLIAMLEE and STREZLECKI WILDONE hung in rounding the home turn and as a result contacted marker pegs. WILLIAMLEE was then held up for clear racing room in the home straight.

RACE 9 – HODIAK PACE – 2200 METRES

MINISTRY tired from the 500 metres. Trainer/Driver Dylan Ford could offer no explanation as to the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have dermatitis to the tendon area. Mr Ford has been advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced for MINISTRY prior to racing again.

RACE 10 – COURTNEYS PRIDE STAKES DIVISION TWO – 2200 METRES

The start of this event was delayed three minutes after the sulky of MASTER CHARLIE was replaced due to a flat tyre.

PAINT THE WIND was out of position at the start. Driver Rohan Hadley was reprimanded under AR 162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position.

JIMMY DE PANDA which was out of position at the start will continue to be placed right out of the draw for future mobile start events.

CARDINAL EDDY raced rough under pressure near the 400 metres and as a result contacted the marker pegs.

GENERAL

Trainer Keith Toulmin was found guilty of a charge under AR 190B(4) for failing to record the minimum requirements in his treatment book pursuant to AR190B(1)(b). Mr Toulmin was fined the sum of $200.

MUDGUARDS – All trainers are reminded to bring mudguards to the races when wet weather conditions are forecast. When it is directed that mudguards are to be fitted this will be communicated by a notice at the horse check-in, the course broadcaster and via Twitter. Penalties may be imposed on trainers who fail to comply with this direction.

Tasmanian Pacing Club – 2nd August 2015

Stewards inquired into the reasons for CEMENTO RAPDIO breaking after the winning post. After taking evidence from drivers Todd Rattray (FORTINO), John Walters (CEMENTO RAPIDO) and Christian Salter (GLAMOUR ART) it was established that in the home straight FORTINO shifted out under pressure. GLAMOUR ART who was racing to the outside of FORTINO also shifted out under pressure and away from FORTINO. CEMENTO RAPIDO who was racing tight to the outside of GLAMOUR ART broke as a result of Christian Salter being unable to relive the pressure placed on CEMENTO RAPIDO from his own horse and also the movement from FORTINO. Asit could not be comfortable established that any driver was solely responsible no action was taken.
