Note that a value chain is different from a supply chain, or the innovation chain. A value chain typically consists at least of a feedstock provider, a converter, and an end-user, but can contain more stakeholders if this is needed.

What is the intellectual property situation and exploitability regarding the value chain idea?
- Detail any intellectual property (eg patents) you have obtained or applied for that might be relevant to establishing protection for the value chain idea.
- Has any freedom-to-operate patent analysis been carried out on your technology or are you aware of any third party IP that may be relevant?
- If already available, provide a summary and references of known prior-art around your innovation(i.e. a summary of any patent database searches, web-based searches and literature searches on which aspects of your innovation are already present in the public domain). Please note that the reviewers of this application are well aware that for most (if not all) innovations some type of prior-art is present. This information will actually be used to help you building the new value chains in a professional way.
