NOTE: The GALV and it’s committees, reserves the right to verify handicaps, addresses, and amateur status of tournament applicants as defined by the United States Golf Association (USGA). All applications for entrance to GALV tournaments are subject to acceptance by the tournament committee. The tournament committee reserves the right to limit entries, adjust tournament dates, times, competitive formats, and expenditures, and other tournament procedures to adjust to conditions prevailing at the time of the tournament. Purse amounts are predicated on the estimated number of players in the field that are listed in this tournament application. If less players play than estimated for this tournament, purse amounts will be reduced by a similar or accelerated percentage. All applicants agree to abide by the rules of golf as defined by the USGA, local tournament rules set forth by the GALV and the tournament committee; and any tourmament rulings of the GALV. Applicants to this and any GALV tournament hereby release the GALV, it’s officers, and tournament committee, rules committee, and host course personnelfrom any and all liability for any event or consequence whatsoever in any way arising out of or relating to the applicant’s entry or participation in this tournament; with the sole and singular exception of liability arising out of bad faith or willful misconduct by the tournament committee. 2016 EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS (EPAC)

FRIDAY, AUGUST 5 & SATURDAY, AUGUST 6, 2016

1. TOURNAMENT PURPOSE: The Eastern Pennsylvania Amateur Championships is a major regional amateur championship golf tournament for amateur golfers from throughout eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

2. COMMITTEES: The Eastern Pennsylvania Amateur Championships will be managed by a tournament committee headed up by Golf Association of the Lehigh Valley tournament officials.

3. FORMAT: 36 holes, stroke play. Regular, and senior player divisions. Players who wish to compete in the senior division must be 50 years of age as of August 5, 2016.

4. TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE: First Round: Friday, August 5, 2016, Whitetail. Second Round: Saturday, August 6, 2016, Southmoore. Lowest score for 36 holes will be declared the division champion. Ties for any division championships after regulation play is finished will be broken by a sudden-death playoff until a champion is determined.

5. ELIGIBILITY: The 2016 Eastern Pennsylvania Amateur Championships are open to all amateur golfers who possess a current USGA handicap index of twelve (12) strokes or less. Entries are subject to approval or rejection anytime by the tournament committee (before or during the tournament) at it's discretion. By application, an entrant agrees not to protest any rejection of their entry. The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct contrary to golf etiquette principles in the 2016 RULES OF GOLF.

6. FEES: $150 entrance fee; includes greens fees, carts, prizes, trophies, lunch, and refreshments.

7. PRIZES: Regular Division: $2,000 based on a full division field of 35players. Senior Division: $2,000 based on a full division field of 35 players.

8. 2016 EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP HONORS: The winners of the 2016 Eastern Pennsylvania Amateur Championships regular and senior player divisions will be declared the stroke play champions of amateur and senior amateur golf respectively of eastern Pennsylvania regional amateur golf for 2016.

9. PLAYING CONDITIONS: (Subject to normal climatic conditions): REGULAR PLAYER DIVISION - Blue Tees. SENIOR PLAYER DIVISION: White tees

10. PIN POSITIONS: The pin positions will be determined daily by the Southmoore and Whitetail Golf Course PGA Golf Professional staffs.

11. RULES COMMITTEE: The GALV, and/or host golf professionals at Southmoore and Whitetail Golf Courses will make all necessary rulings in accordance with the 2016 RULES OF GOLF. It is the intention of the tournament committee to play the Eastern Pennsylvania Amateur Championships under the official 2016 RULES OF GOLF, and all applicable local rules as interpreted by the Southmoore and Whitetail Golf Course PGA Golf Professional staffs. All tournament rulings are final.

12. THREESOME PAIRINGS: First round - blind draw. Second round - by the reverse order (highest to lowest) of the first round scores. Ties in the first round scores will be broken (for the purpose of establishing the second round times) in the order the tied players registered their first round scores.

NOTE: Players may request an early or late tee time for the first round only. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE may a player request at any time preferential treatment in pairings, such as a request to play with a friend. Any such requests, before and during the tournament, may result in a rejection of a player's entry in the tournament. Players who travel over ten miles to the tournament site may request to play no more than two (2) groups apart from a traveling companion on the first day of the tournament only.

13. STARTING TIMES: Available beginning Wednesday, August3, 2016 from Whitetail Golf Club (610-837-9626), or online at

14. CHECK-IN PRIOR TO THE START OF PLAY: All tournament participants must check-in with the pro shop at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled starting times. All players should report to the first tee, ready to play, 10 minutes prior to their scheduled starting times. Although a participant's group will be called out, it is the individual player's responsibility to be at the first tee prior to their starting time. Players who report to the first tee after their group has teed off, are subject to the appropriate penalties governing such matters in the 2016 RULES OF GOLF.

15. WITHDRAWAL: All players who register to play, but desire to withdraw prior to the tournament date, must withdraw by Monday, August 1, 2016 for a refund. Players can contact the GALV at 610-437-4982.

16. DRESS CODE: All tournament participants are expected to dress in appropriate golf attire. No jeans, T-shirts, tank tops, or cut-off shorts are permitted. Bermuda length shorts are permitted. No penetrating metal-spiked golf shoes are allowed.

17. DIRECTIONS: SOUTHMOORE GOLF COURSE, 235 Moorestown Drive, Bath, PA 18014, 610-837-7200. Take Route 22 to Route 512 north exit. Turn right, and proceed @ eight miles through Bath. The course is located on Route 512, @ 2 miles north of Bath, on the left side of the road.

WHITETAIL GOLF CLUB, 2679 Kleins Road, Bath, PA 18014, 610-837-9626. Take Route 22 to Route 987 (Airport Road) north. Go @ 5 miles north, turn right at traffic light onto Nor-Bath Blvd. (still Route 987, make the turn @ 1/2 mile north of Four O's Driving Range). Proceed on Route 987 @ 3 miles into Bath, make a right turn,then make an immediate left turn to continue on Route 987. Proceed @ 1.1 miles to Whitetail Deer Road, make a left and go @ 1 mile up the hill to Kleins Road. Turn left, and the course is straight ahead.
