Our mission- Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults through our community programs

Our vision is to feed and clothe children, enhance and enrich education and support and serve our community.

Classroom grants are intended to fund innovation, helping educators to launch something new. You may apply for up to $750 /project that will be implemented during the 2017-18 school year. Classroom teachers, guidance counselors and others who require a license to carry out their work with students enrolled in Pre-k through 12th grade Minneapolis public schools are eligible to apply.

Application Deadline:Monday, October 9, 2017

Grants awarded:Monday, November 20, 2017

Grant financial report due by:Friday, April 13, 2018

Preference is given to projects that improve student achievement/self-esteem, encourage parent/community involvement, and improve curriculum. Other factors considered are: the number of students served, the free and reduced price lunch statistic of the school, and if the program could be replicated for future students.

5. Classroom Grants are given for projects that directly address students’ needs. Briefly describe the demographics of your student population and how this grant will address specific learning needs.
6. Assistance League would like for Links to Learning Classroom Grants to fund new and innovative classroom practices. How is your project unique, new, different, and/or innovative in meeting your students’ needs?
7. What are the intended outcomes of your project? List the methods for achieving your objectives. Please include a timeline or flow chart that indicates approximately when major activities will take place.

GRANT BUDGET

Instructions:

  • Complete budget in Word and include associated costs such as fees, resource materials, books, services, equipment and supplies.
  • When listing your expenses, please include sales tax as funds will be issued directly to the recipient and the district tax exemption cannot be used.
  • Round expenses to the nearest whole dollar (i.e. $721.49 to $722.00).
  • Payment for services to a consultant (s) (such as an artist) may total no more than $599.
