New College proud to be named as number 43 at the National Centre for Diversity.

New College Pontefract feature as 43 in the Top 100 Index from the National Centre for Diversity (NCFD).

The Top 100 Index highlights the very best of the UK across 600 organisations to celebrate commitment and excellence around equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Lauren Walker, Assistant Principal for Human Resources said: “This is a fantastic recognition. I am very proud to be part of the hard working team here at New College, where we champion and are hugely committed to equality, diversity and fairness. On behalf of the staff at New College, I want to say how delighted we are at receiving this.”

The Top 100 Index was launched as part of the National Centre for Diversity’s 10 year anniversary celebrations. The Top 100 was determined by using key data from the Investors in the Diversity or Leaders in Diversity diagnostics, which UK based organisations have completed. The results were entered into a computer system which generated the Top 100, using a percentage based matrix.

Chief Executive of the National Centre for Diversity, Solat Chaudhry, commented: “I want to offer huge congratulations to all of those who were shortlisted, they were all very deserving of this level of recognition.”

NOTES TO EDITORS

Back in 2005, the National Centre for Diversity was a grass roots movement created through the sheer will and determination of the most committed, passionate and knowledgeable across sectors in the UK. Bringing their own personal experiences to the table they had one profound goal in mind to bring knowledge and understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) to organisations in the UK.

Today, the National Centre for Diversity offers their own ‘Top Performers index’, training, e-learning courses and bespoke support to enhance understanding of EDI. They have grown and now work in partnership with over 600 organisations across the UK.

NCFD want to create a society where there is genuine equality of opportunity, and there is fairness for all.

The NCFD works with organisations of all sizes in the private, public and voluntary sectors; including Schools, Further Education institutions, Construction companies, Prisons, Housing Associations and NHS Trusts.

NCFD will continue to grow, and use the momentum they have built over the last 10 years; to drive forward Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to ensure fairness for all.
