Printmaking Triple Play—Beth Atkinson and Mary Broderson

May be taken together, or as single sessions. Each session limited to 25 participants. Priority registration given for attending full series.

#1Date: Session 1—Gelli PrintingMarch 6th 4:00-7:00 pm

Try out the latest and hottest printmaking plates on the market! Gelli Plates are a re-usable gelatin like printing plate that can be used over and over again for monoprinting. Use the monoprints for collage, mixed media, book arts, or just as is. Gelli prints are great for use with all ages, pre-K through professional use. Plates can be used with tempera, acrylic or soy based inks and last forever with proper care. Sign up for Session !! and use your prints to cover your handmade books or fill them with your creations. Sign up for all three and use your prints to make books and portfolios!

#2Date: Session 2—Folded Book StructuresMarch 13th4:00-7:00 pm

Two book structures made from folded paper will be taught during this session. Participants from Session 1 (Gelli Printing), you can use those prints to cover your book or use within. These books typically sell at Craft Venues for $20 ea. Easy to make from elementary through HS. If you didn’t attend Session 1, other materials will be available for use.

#3Date: March 20thSession 3—Professional Portfolios4:00-7:00 pm

Create a simple structure with a professional look to hold your student or personal work, or to use for presentation. If you took Session 1, those materials can be used for cover or endpapers to complete your portfolios.If you didn’t attend Session 1, other materials will be available for use.

If you’re looking for something to do with all those great images in your camera roll, bring your iPhone and experience the powerful editing apps available through the App store. In 3 hours you will be creating beautiful images with your phone’s camera. A list of apps will be sent to you upon registration. Join us for a fun workshop as you learn how to apply multiple apps to an image to create one-of-a-kind artworks.

Ceramic Bird Houses—Angela Galanti

Dates: April 3 and 10. 3:30-6:00 PMParticipants must attend both sessions. (Limited to 25.)

This is a two part workshop in which whimsical birdhouses are fashioned out of simple clay pinch pots. In the first session birdhouses would be constructed, and the second session would be devoted to embellishing with glazes. The lessons can be adapted for grades 4-12 and includes a review of basic ceramic techniques and tools, as well as a brief history of associated artists and vocabulary.

Whitney Biennial

Date:Sat. March 23rd 11:30-1:00PM

What could be more enjoyable than visiting the Whitney Biennial with a docent and your art teacher colleagues? Join us for an extended docent led (1 ½ hr.) tour of this exciting and important exhibition. Feel free to spend the rest of the day in the museum after the tour. Upon registration you will receive a link to references that can be downloaded prior to your visit. Included in the download are materials you can use in your classroom.

Excursion Out East

Date: Sat. May 17th –10:00 AM

Join usfor a day of art and art history (with lunch in between) as we tour the new Parrish Art Museum and the Jackson Pollock House. We will facilitate carpools and have docents and guides in both venues.

Meet at the NEW Parrish Art Museum, 279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill, NY

Admission for Tours: $10 Cost of lunch TBD. Surcharge for guests waived.
