POSITION:BAKERY ASSISTANT

REPORTS TO:BAKERY MANAGER

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESIn this position you are the ‘face’ of the Bernardi Group. The Bakery Assistant is required to assist in baking speciality bread, rolls etc, replenishingthe Bakery department as well as providing our valued customers polite and friendly customer service. A key aspect of this role is the ability to work as a member of a team.

QUALIFICATION AND WORK SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Recent relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated understanding and willingness to provide excellence in customer service
  • Demonstrated experience and or interest in speciality fresh foods
  • Food safety certification
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Willingness to complete Certificate III in Retail (Desirable)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Undertake the departments procedures as per the Bernardi Group standard
  • Effective communication with all key stakeholders including Directors, Managers, Team Members as well as Contractors and Suppliers
  • Prepare bakery recipes according to procedure
  • Provide customer service to our valued customers
  • Assist our valued customers with product selection as required
  • Stock , replenish and rotate bakery shelves and displays
  • Assist in the timely and efficient break down of loads as they are delivered ensuring that there is not too much stock on the shop floor at one time
  • Receive Bakery deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy
  • Assist in undertaking stock takes
  • Cleaning duties on a continuous basis
  • Other duties, as required, as directed
