Ellsworth AFB Child & Youth Mission Statement
To assist DoD military and civilian personnel in balancing the competing demands of the accomplishment of the DoD mission and family life by managing and delivering a system of quality, available, and affordable programs and services for eligible children and youth birth through 18 years of age.
Ellsworth AFB Family Child Care Program - Fits Your Child Care Needs….
The Family Child Care Program offers child care in a licensed home setting by providers living in base housing. These self-employed providers operate their homes independently in compliance with strict Air Force policies, which include frequent inspections (announced and unannounced) and close monitoring by the Family Child Care staff. Extensive background screenings on the providers and their family members and orientation training must be completed prior to licensing. Annual and monthly trainings are required to maintain licensing that surpasses state requirements.
The Family Child Care Program is designed to provide an alternative to center-based care with flexible hours and small groups in a home setting. Our goal is to ensure quality child care is available to military members and DoD employees so they can successfully perform their mission duties, secure in the knowledge their children are cared for in a safe, healthy, and loving environment. The Family Child Care Program provides care for children from 2 weeks old through 12 years old and for children with special needs.
Parents who desire to enroll their children who are 2 weeks to 12 years old children in the FCC program can obtain the names of licensed and affiliated providers by contacting the FCC office 385-4270 or by looking online at www.ellsworthfss.com under the Family Child Care Program tab. A current list is also available at the CDC, Youth Center, Airman and Family Readiness Center, lodging office and Family Housing office.
