Flat Springs Awana

Thank you for allowing your child to participate in the Awana program. We are looking forward to an exciting and fun filled year. We know God is going to work mightily in this program.

We would like to take this opportunity to share some information with you about our program. Attached you will find a copy of our club rules. We would like for you to review these and talk with your child about his or her responsibility in following of these rules.

Because this is a club, each member will be responsible for weekly dues. These dues are set at 50¢ for each week we meet. We will be meeting approximately 30 weeks this year. These may be paid weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually. The dues are used to help defray the club expenses.

Each clubber will also be responsible for purchasing a handbook and uniform. Each group has an entrance booklet which is provided by the club. This has to be completed before the clubber can begin a handbook or purchase a uniform. This booklet usually takes approximately 3 weeks to complete. Your clubber’s leader will let you know when you can purchase a book and uniform. Vest and shirt prices are between $10-$14, and the book prices are $9-$10.

Attached you will find our calendar for this year. Please be sure to post this in order for your child to keep up with the themes.

Each night we have game time for each club. Our game director has asked that we pass along some information about dress for game time. We would like for your child to wear tennis shoes and pants/shorts due to running and some of the games we play.

Please complete the forms and return to your child’s leader, so we can have information on your child for safety.

We are looking forward to a great year of learning God’s word and working with your child. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

AWANA Club Rules

1.  Sit quietly during council time.

2.  You must walk at all times unless you are participating in game time.

3.  No Gum chewing during AWANA time.

4.  You must raise your hand and be recognized before talking.

5.  You must be on time. AWANA starts promptly at 4:30 in the fellowship hall. Parents can come in and pick up their child from inside the fellowship hall or use the car line in front of the fellowship hall. Children will not be released until a parent has come to pick them up unless other arrangements are made with one of the commanders/co-commanders and the leader has a note stating the arrangement.

6.  You must show good sportsmanship at all times.

7.  You must show respect at all times to the church property and to your leaders and fellow clubbers.

8.  We will use a five count to gain club attention in group settings.

9.  Each clubber will receive a three (3) count for behavior problems. A leader will counsel the clubber the first time; the second time the clubber will be pulled from the group for a period of isolation and thinking; the third time, a call will be made to the parents – and/or clubber will be suspended for one Sunday Awana meeting.

Please contact one of the commanders/co-commanders or your child’s leader with any questions or concerns you might have with these club rules.

Please complete the attached signature form indicating that you and your child have reviewed these rules and agree to abide by them.
