Marilyn J. Bardsley’s Eliot Ness: The Man behind the Myth cited in Senator’s bid to honor the famously honest G-Man.
On February 3, 2014,The Sandusky Register cited Marilyn J. Bardsley’sCrime Library biography of Eliot Nessas part of Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown’s bidto honor Ness by naming the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms building in Washington, D.C., the “Eliot Ness ATF Building.”
Most people don’t know that after wrecking Al Capone’s breweries in Chicago, Eliot Ness spent much of his law enforcement career in Cleveland, Ohio as the head of the police and fire departments, cleaning up and modernizing the corrupt Cleveland police force. Eliot Ness’ crusades against crime inspired two television series and a movie starring Kevin Costner as Eliot Ness.
