FUEL PRICE REPORT JUNE 2007

Crude oil prices have fluctuated again this month, rising as high as $71 per barrel over the past month and petrol prices have continued to rise. Much of this has resulted from a continuing shortage of gasoline stocks in the US.

Nationally, Unleaded priceshave risen by 1.1p per litre to 97.0ppl. Diesel prices have also increased slightly, by 0.6ppl to 97.4ppl. The price difference between Unleaded and Diesel has fallen from 0.9ppl in May to 0.4 pence in June.

Walesagainrecorded the highest price for Unleaded at 97.6ppl followed byNorthern Irelandat 97.4ppl. The North Westrecorded the lowest price at 96.6ppl. Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and East Angliarecorded the highest Diesel prices at 97.7ppl, followed bythe South Westat 97.6ppl. The North Weststill has the cheapest Diesel at 96.8ppl.

Supermarket prices for Unleadedalso rose over the month by 0.9ppl to 95.7ppl. The gap between supermarket prices and the UK average for Unleaded has risen slightly to 1.3ppl (last month the difference was 1.1ppl).

Overseas prices have also risen. The UK has the sixthhighest Unleaded price in Europe.
