The Universe Adventure

Go to the website: http://www.universeadventure.org/fundamentals/cosmol-beginning.htm

·  Do all the interactives and what all the animations to support your learning. Make sure to completely go through each lesson – skipping any part will make this unclear as the lessons are built to support the next lesson and so forth.

·  There will be a few lessons in which there are “Down the rabbit holes” or other links to take to on to further an understanding – do these! There are not long but show great animations & interactives.

·  There will be some “lightbulb” questions called Cosmic Conundrums – do these as well – they may appear on future quizzes or test questions for this unit.

·  On the sheet provided, for each section/lesson you will need to write about what you learned from that lesson, interesting things, etc.

·  You have through this Friday in the computer lab to complete these. Everyday you come in on the right side you may click on the main topics to see the expanded lessons and click on where you left off…

Part 1: Fundamentals

/ Begin with the first lesson of “The Beginnings of Cosmology” and follow along with all the lessons of the Fundamentals as seen to the left.
Once you have completed the lessons through “The Cosmological Principle” you will then go on to learn about the Evidence to support the Big Bang Theory…

Part 2: Evidence

/ Begin with the first lesson of “Expansion of the Universe” and follow along with all the lessons of Evidence as seen to the left.
Once you have completed the lessons through “The Visible Universe” you will then go on to learn about the Eras supporting our expanding universe…

Part 3: Eras

/ Begin with the first lesson of “The Planck Epoch” and follow along with all the lessons of Eras as seen to the left.
Once you have completed the lessons through “The Fate of the Universe” you may go on to learn about the Final Frontier if time allows.

For each section/lesson you will need to write about what you learned from that lesson, interesting things, etc. The more detailed your summaries the better to show you didn’t “breeze” through and skip things. ;) Basically looking for a few sentence paragraph – complete enough to demonstrate some bit of understanding.
