Browsers Certified For Use With
eUMB Applications, RAVEN & eForms
Using a browser that has not been certified for use with eUMB applications, RAVEN or eForms may work in some cases, but it may also cause the application to behave inconsistently, including failure to display certain items on a page.
‘Certified’ means that the UMB application should behave consistently and as expected in the listed browser version. We recommend using a certified browser for most consistency in these applications.
Here are a few browser-related tips:
· Turn OFF all pop-up blockers when using these UMB applications.
· Control when version updates are applied. If included with your browser, UNcheck automatic version update option (especially for IE 10 users). This will let you be in control of whether or not a new version of the browser is installed on your workstation.
· Which version am I running? Refer to the handout, How to Check Your Browser’s Version to learn how to identify the version you are using.
· Clear your cache and cookies often. Refer to the handout, Clearing Your Browser Cache and Cookies for shortcuts to clearing cache and cookies.
· Note on Chrome and Firefox release cycles: Version updates occur frequently for both Chrome and Firefox. This is why the ‘certified’ version looks so different from the June 2013 ‘current’ version.
· Browsers are certified using a browser’s default settings (such as no Trusted Sites for Internet Explorer).
A table of browsers certified to work with eUMB Applications, RAVEN and eForms (as of 3/09/15) is shown on the next page. Since the combination of operating system and browser can make a difference, we have provided information on both.
