North Dakota One-Call is pleased to inform you that we have updated and improved the geographic base map for all North Dakota counties. These updates should increase the efficiencies of the one-call system and hopefully further reduce the number of “out of area” tickets some of our members receive. The replacement data contains new roads, some positional shifts to existing roads and county boundary changes. If you have coverage near or crossing county boundaries, please take a close look to verify that you will have property coverage with the new county boundaries.
The new map data will be installed on March 28, 2018.Please compare your existing coverage area against the new map before March 15, 2018to ensure your facilities will remain properly protected and to give yourself adequate time to make any necessary changes prior to the installation of the new map data.
To review your coverage area on the new map:
Send a request to sign up for IMAP to . Once signed up, go to click on the Excavators link on the home page and enter your IMAP login/password. From the main menu, select “Review Base Map Changes”, then select the county and district code followed by the “Go” button. To review your coverage area, click the “All” and “Go to” buttons in the District box. Finally, select the OCC map layer to verify your coverage against the new base map.If you already have access to IMAP you do not need to request access.
If coverage area changes are needed:
In Review Base Map Changes, the default activation date will be set to March 28, 2018. If your preference is to provide shape files, please submit your data via email to . Please send all requests to . Be sure to provide your name, contact phone, company name, district code(s) and county(s).
Keep in mind that your coverage must be verified against street and county boundary placement on the NDOC/OCC map. While section/quarter section data is available and used, most excavators will identify their work area based on the street data so your coverage must be accurate in relation to the street and county boundary data on the base map. Additionally, while access to Google maps is available, it is to be used as an additional reference tool ONLY. In all cases, your coverage must be accurate as it relates to the map features on the NDOC/OCC map!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Cindy Haines, 563-884-7763, or Shannon Buxton at 563-884-7770, .
