TOY SAFETY INFORMATION GUIDE

You may have noticed that there have been several advertisements on TV lately about a website that offers advice and information about health in Canada. There are many topics of interest on the site, and an entire section dedicated to children. Using information from this site, you must create a one-page print advertisement about the ‘toy safety’ that will appeal to parents/adults.

Healthy Canadians Website (toy safety):

http://healthycanadians.gc.ca/kids/toy-safety/

Example of a public safety ad (Alberta)

http://www.fortisalberta.com/data/1/rec_imgs/210_SafetyJobAd2009.jpg

Your ad must include:

1 -an engaging title

4 -a written paragraph explaining some general points about the issue

4 -images (with captions explaining their relevance: at least 2)

4 -at least four “quick facts” (more would be great!) scattered on the ad

1 -a reference to the website from which you acquired your information

(in small print at the bottom of your document, with your name and the date)

Total: 14

*This will be due Wednesday, February 16. You will have part of a period in the lab today, as well as a full period on Tuesday, February 15. GOOD LUCK!
