Program Description
The Investment Banking Financial Analyst program is a two-year program in a specific industry coverage or product group selected at the conclusion of the training program. Financial Analysts work in teams with peers and senior professionals on:
Ø Business Development
o Prepare new business presentations
o Conduct fundamental industry research and quantitative analysis
o Review and organize financial data
o Develop quantitative analysis
Ø Financial Analysis
o Use / develop financial models
o Stand-alone company valuation
o Discounted cash flow analysis
o Financing, comparative and pro forma analyses
Ø Transaction Execution
o Interact with clients and various levels of management
o Act as an integral part of working team
Ø Presentation Coordination
o Manage the Firm's resources
Developmental Opportunities
The Financial Analyst training program is approximately 4 weeks in duration, compromised of 2 weeks general training and 2 weeks departmental training. The program is taught by Citi staff as well as accounting and business school professionals. There are classes in financial analysis, accounting, finance and general business concepts, as well as computer and firm resource training. Continuous training is provided throughout the two-year Analyst program.
Many Financial Analysts are invited to stay for a 3rd year and many eventually become an Associate. There are bi-annual reviews to ensure continued dialogue on performance and to set goals for future development.
