2015-2016
- ATHLETIC PHILOSOPHY AND INTRODUCTION
The Board of Education of Hall High School District #502(the “Board”) believes that interscholastic athletics provide student athletes with an excellent opportunity to learn teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and moral character. To this end, the Hall High School Athletic Program (the “Athletic Program”) shall strive to provide each student athlete with experiences that will be memorable and positive and that help develop a sense of commitment to a common cause, acceptance of responsibility and loyalty towards chosen endeavors. In doing so, no student shall, on the basis of sex, color, religion, race, or national origin, be excluded form participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under the Athletic Program.
The Board further believes that participation in interscholastic athletics is a privilege that requires student athletes to accept certain responsibilities. The student athlete, by accepting this privilege, is a representative of Hall High School on the playing field and in the community, and he or she must act accordingly. To further its belief that the Athletic Program should be one of which student athletes and the community can be proud, the Board has adopted the rules and regulations set forth in this Athletic Code.
The Athletic Code and other documents referred to herein are not contracts. The Board reserves the right to amend the Athletic Code and other documents without prior notice to student athletes and their parents or guardians. It shall be the responsibility of the student athlete and his or her parents or guardian to become familiar with and abide by the Athletic Code and other applicable rules and regulations.
