Position: HR Generalist
Reports to:Ownership Team
Location:Grande Prairie
The Human Resources Generalist maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resource policies, programs, and practices.Major Responsibilities
- Maintains the organizational structure; analyzing job requirements and create/maintain job descriptions for all positions.
- Maintains successful recruiting, interviewing and testing programs; counselsbranch managers on candidate interviewing and selection.
- Conducts new hire orientation in regard to Control Tech compensation, benefits and ethics policies; guides new hires through employee paperwork and works with payroll and admin to ensure pay and IT access set up.
- Maintains new hire packages.
- Provides education on benefit programs, assistance with benefit changes and liaises with payroll and benefit provider to manage disability claims.
- Provides coaching, guidance and grievance mediation to both employees and managers in order to foster objectivity and consistency in the employment relationship.
- Provides guidance and administration in employer actions such as discipline and termination to ensure legal compliance.
- Maintains employer guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal / Provincial / State requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; responding to Employment Standards, Employment Insurance and Human Rights inquiries / complaints.
- Anticipates the needs and provides ongoing HR analysis in the areas of recruitment, retention, performance management, training, records management, compensation, etc.; makes recommendations and leads initiatives in these areas
- Promotes a positive organizational culture that engages and motivates employees through communication initiatives, employee participation events and employee recognition and rewards.
- Provides historical human resource data and records; maintains a filing and retrieval system for past and current records.
- 2-5 year experience in Human Resources with Oil and Gas industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Employment Standards legislation and Human Rights Legislation is an Asset.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- A positive and proactive approach towards solving problems and meeting challenges
- Ability to find independent solutions to problems and anticipate organizational needs
- Strong computer skills, demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office and internet based applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel
- Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources minimum required
- Combination of Human Resources experience/education in similar role.
- Bachelor or CHRP is considered an Asset
