Additions to Agenda

Tom Hess asked about who the primary temperament tester was. Sami Beckley does the majority of the testing but all of the kennel staff have been trained to do the testing.

Limited Public Comment

Bob Peña brought three issues:

  1. An on leash dog dragged his owner over to a porch and killed a cat. He wondered what the appropriate action should have been. He was advised to call animal control dispatch whowould send an officer to investigate.
  2. A neighborhood woman was starting to accumulate a large number of cats. He was advised to check into CAHS low cost spay/neuter and the shelter’s TNR program.
  3. He asked for info on fostering to adopt. The shelter does not have a foster to adopt program so he was given info about the Home for the Holidays program.

Millage Update

The part time staff will become full time in January. Two new staff have been hired (Dave Finet, volunteer coordinator and Samantha Riley, dispatch/clerk). The building project has been turned over to the County Building Authority.

Director’s Report
