Who attends? Family members, neighbors, friends, professionals, anyone...

Who will be my teachers? Deaf instructors rotate through the classes every half-day.

Is it strict? Are there tests? No tests, everyone passes! The whole point of the week is to learn ASL and get to know Deaf people and their culture in a fun and relaxed way. The teachers are very patient. There is a lot of laughter in the classes everyday. And you also learn ASL.

Do we learn ASL all day? ASL classes run from 9:00 am to 3:15 pm, with short coffee breaks and a one-hour lunch. From 3:30 to 4:30 Monday to Thursday there will be 4 or 5 mini-workshops on various topics. Each day you pick a topic that most interests you and/or matches your ASL level.

Where is the Manitoba School for the Deaf? Near the west perimeter of Winnipeg. After you register, you will receive a confirmation letter with additional information and a map.
