Cessna N5739R is a super aircraft and will be the perfect time builder or aircraft to learn how to fly. The following are some special points to consider:

  • She just went through an extensive annual and all AD’s have been complied with.
  • Garmin 345 In/Out, WAAS, ALT Encoder, IPAD2, ICOM 200, 2-place Intercom, new antennas and cables were installed by Crystal Avionics at New Braunfels airport in January 2017. Cost of this was $9565.00.
  • Her compressions during the annual were mid-60’s to mid-70’s.
  • I have flown her for about 15 hours and during that time have only had to add oil one time and that was only a half quart. I keep the oil at 7.5 quarts instead of the 8 as the Continental 0-300D is known to blow excess oil out.
  • Both mags were replaced with new Slick Mags and new harnesses. Cost of this was $2600.
  • Tachometer was replaced along with the cable. Cost of the was $550.00
  • Both main tires and tubes were replaced, wheel bearings packed. Cost was $475.00
  • Brakes were relined.
  • New carpet and side panel carpeting were recently added and new headliner installed. Cost of this was $1,000.00
  • Glass has a few scratches but is still in good shape.
  • Seats are in good condition and I added two leather pads for front seats.
  • Engine starts on third or fourth blade and oil pressure quickly comes up.
  • She runs cool… even in the heat from South Texas.
  • According to the log books, she had a nose gear collapse early in her life and this was repaired. The engine and propeller were also replaced at this time.
  • Time on engine is 1412.5 but I fly it frequently so times will change.
  • Time since top end overhaul is 570.
  • Cruising at 2300 rpm at 100-105 mph, she uses around 7 GPH.
  • During cruise, you can take hands off controls and she holds wings level.
  • I have several videos of her on YouTube and if you search for 5739R, you will find them.

REASON FOR SELLING: My primary goal in buying her last year was to get my wife to fly with me and we go around the country. This wasn’t in her plan so I will just go back to flying my Challenger II plane. I bought N5739R last year and have invested lots of time and money to get her back into flying condition. The Garmin 345 was over 8K installed and the new Slick Mags, tires, tubes, brakes, etc during May’s annual were around 3.2K. The interior work was around 1K and other work was another 1k. That is over 13.2 thousand and when you subtract that from the 30k price tag, you are getting a 1965 Cessna SkyHawk for less than $17,000! If she doesn’t sell, I will just keep flying her and maybe one day, the wife will change her mind.

REASON FOR BUYING: You are getting one heck of an airplane that flies great, very reliable, and is about as inexpensive to operate that you can find. The GARMIN 345 is linked to a panel-mounted IPAD2 and is both IN and OUT transmissions. It was professional installed and if another aircraft is close to you or will intersect with you, this system will let you know both verbally and with the instruments. This will be a requirement for all aircraft operating in Class C or Class B airspace in the future and is part of the FAA’s Next Gen.
