PIPE PULLER AND RESETTER

These pullers remove pipe nipples and other lengths of pipe without damaging the pipe threads. The tools will pay for themselves very quickly.

CG500P For pipe sizes 1/8”, 1/4", and 3/8” NPT

CG505P For pipe sizes 1/2" and 3/4" NPT

CG508P For pipe sizes 1” and 1 1/4" NPT

WARNING: “Always use approved eye protection”

Before using read following instructions carefully

1.  First select a collet with the right threads to fit the pipe to be removed and place it in the housing of the tool.

2.  Place collet in housing and align keyway with key in housing. Turn the draw bolt on the outer end until it draws the collet in and the head of the draw bolt is down loosely against the housing. Leave the collet loose enough in the housing so it will screw on the pipe freely.

3.  To achieve maximum gripping efficiency, clean and dry pipe threads. Screw the tool on the pipe and engage as many full formed threads as possible. Do not run collet onto the pipe threads that are not fully formed. (see illustration on back*). This procedures insures maximum contact surface of engaged threads.

4.  Apply drop of oil to the bearing surface between the draw bolt and the housing. To secure the tool onto the pipe, hold the tool from turning by the large hexagon on the housing and tighten the draw bolt to insure maximum clamping force.

5.  Remove the pipe by turning the large hexagon of the housing. Tool slippage may be caused by damged threads or foreign objects preventing maximum engagement of thread surfaces. Some repositioning of tool and retightening of draw bolt may be required.

6.  To remove the pipe from the collet, back the cap screw out just enough to break the grip of the collet. Then take out the pipe before backing off the collet from the key in the housing.

7.  To reset pipe, run it in the collet engaging all the fully formed threads. Secure the tool with the stud bolt and then drive the pipe by turning either hex.
